It’s one of the lesser-known links between football clubs and music moguls, but it looks like Snoop Dogg wants to put some serious money into Celtic Football Club.
Clearly, following the successful purchase of Wrexham by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Calvin Broadus Jr, to give him his real name, has clearly seen a financial opportunity.

Interestingly, a historical image of the rapper in Celtic clothing has resurfaced on social media.

“I love what Ryan has done with Wrexham – it’s just a great story,” he said Daily Record/Sunday Mail.
“Investing in a sports team is something I’ve been looking at for a long time, if the opportunity to invest in Celtic came up I’d be crazy not to take a look.
“I’ve seen so much football in Europe but I’ve never seen fans like Celtic. There’s something so special about them.
“There’s a reason their fans are the talk of the town all over Europe – the best players and managers in the world tell you there’s no place like Celtic Park and I want to be a part of that.
“His pet is a dog; you couldn’t make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound; that’s got to be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves.”
It is not clear at this stage whether Celtic would be amenable to such an investment, although Snoop has broad global appeal and could therefore sell the Celtic brand to different territories and areas in the same way that Reynolds and McElhenney have .
Celtic are still a big name in Scottish football, of course, so any investment would surely have to be significant in order to take the Hoops to the next level.
