Gujarat Titans (GT) has submitted the list of retained players to the BCCI ahead of the 2025 IPL Auction. The IPL Governing Council had set Thursday, October 31, to prepare the list of retained and released players for all franchises. IPL Auction 2025 will be held at the end of December.
Before the mega auction, IPL Auction 2025, each franchise can retain a maximum of 6 players in their squad. They can spend a maximum of Rs. 75 million for the same. BCCI has also increased the total salary cap to Rs. This time $120 million.
Out of the 6 members retained for IPL Auction 2025, each team can retain a maximum of 5 capped players and 2 uncapped players. The retention price for five players is as follows – for top three members (Rs. 18 crore-Rs. 14 crore-11 crore).
If the franchise retains two more members, then the price should be Rs. 18 crore and Rs. 14 million. But this is only for indoor players. Both players can be retained for Rs. 4 million each.

Gujarat Titans finished 8th last season
Last season skipper Hardik Pandya parted ways with the franchise and Shubman Gill was named as the new skipper. However, GT failed to repeat a similar show in the last two seasons.
Gujarat Titans won the title in the 2022 season and finished second in the 2023 season, but finished 8th in the points table in the IPL 2024.
The team led by Shubman Gill won 5 games and lost 7 out of 14 games. Two games were canceled due to rain. With just 12 points in their kitty, they were among the three worst performers of the season.

Sai Sudharsan and Mohit Sharma were the best players of the team last season
Notably, Sai Sudharsan came up with another flawless show for Gujarat Titans last season. The left-handed batsman impressed with an average of 47+, scoring 527 runs in 12 games. He smashed a century and a half century.
Shubman Gill followed him with 426 runs in 12 games at a strike rate of 147+ and a batting average of 38+. Gill also hit a ton in the season. However, the rest of the batsmen failed to even cross 250 runs in the season.
Among the bowlers, Mohit Sharma has come up with a great show once again. He took 13 wickets in 12 games, but this time it cost a bit more at 10.89. Rashid Khan played 12 games in the team and scored 10 goals.
Hence, GT needs to make more changes in its lineup as most of its members failed to produce impressive shows last season. However, with a strong batsman like Shubman Gill leading the way, they can field a strong squad during the IPL auction 2025.
