Mohsin Khan reveals he ‘couldn’t speak to MS Dhoni directly’


Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mohsin Khan has heaped praise on former Indian National Cricket Team captain MS Dhoni. Calling the wicketkeeper-batsman his idol, he said watching the Chennai Super Kings batting game gave him joy.

Mohsin Khan, who calls MS Dhoni his idol, was stunned when the wicketkeeper ended the game by hitting a six. The left-arm pacer recalled Dhoni’s iconic six in the 2011 ODI World Cup final, saying it remains his favorite cricketing moment. Speaking to Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, he explained:

“Dhoni bhai is my idol. Woh jo chakke maarte hai end mein jaake (It’s unbelievable that he hit that six in the end). I was 13-14 then, watching the final. As soon as he hit that six, it felt like Diwali everywhere .”

When Mohsen Khan was asked why he didn’t express his admiration for Dhoni, he replied that he got angry when he saw him, claiming that he couldn’t talk to the wicket-keeper batsman. He added:

“When I see him from afar, I feel happy. Main samne se baat nhi kar pata hu (I can’t speak to him directly), but looking at him gives me joy.”

It is almost confirmed that MS Dhoni will play in IPL 2025

It can be said that if MS Dhoni is going to play in IPL 2025, he will be kept as a non-wicket player. This comes after the BCCI reintroduced the uncapped player rule. He retired from international cricket in 2019, allowing him to be placed as an open player as per the latest IPL rules.

Dhoni was part of Chennai Super Kings in all the games last season. Although he was battling a knee problem, he entertained the crowd with his power punch. He scored 161 runs at a strike rate of 220, all of which came while running up the order.
