Rachin Ravindra nearly upset Mitchell Santner in a jubilant celebration after Rishabh Pant’s wicket.


New Zealand National Cricket Team player Mitchell Santner played a major role in the team’s win in the second Test. Indian National Cricket Team. He helped his team to a famous victory at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Santner was one of the main reasons New Zealand won the second Test against India. He spun the net around the Indian batsmen with the ball in both innings and made sure the opposition did not allow his team to get ahead from the start.

Mitchell Santner picked 7 wickets in the first innings helping New Zealand to a huge lead of over 100 runs. However, he did not stop there as he produced a similar effort in the second innings. The all-rounder still overcame all the blows and did not allow the target to be chased.

Mitchell Santner picked big names in Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and others. He took his second five-wicket haul of the match and recorded career-best figures in Test cricket, leading his team to an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Mitchell Santner came into the limelight not only with his bowling but also with a sensational fielding effort that provided New Zealand with the wicket of Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper-batsman ended up with a duck and it was potentially a turning point for the team in the final innings of the game.

This happened when Ajaz Patel was bowling with Virat Kohli. The batsman hit the ball to the left of backward point where Mitchell Santner was situated. Kohli called for a run but the New Zealander caught Rishabh Pant very short of his crease.

With Santner helping the team take Rishabh Pant’s wicket, Rachin Ravindra was delighted with it. He couldn’t control his emotions and almost ended up hurting his teammate. The video instantly went viral and elicited many hilarious reactions.

India were all out for 245 runs and lost the game by 113 runs

In the chase, India got off to a solid start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (77) and Rohit Sharma (8) showing intent. They had their 34th opening partnership before the captain departed for the sixth time. Shubman Gill (23) and Jaiswal continued with an aggressive approach and added 62 runs for the second wicket.

However, when India looked to be in the front seat, Mitchell Santner was on top of things, yet again picking another fifer in the game. India were reeling at 167 for seven and under massive pressure. Ravichandran Ashwin (18) and Ravindra Jadeja (42) put on a handy partnership of 39 runs.

But they couldn’t keep going either as New Zealand kept attacking the wickets. India were all out for 245 runs and won the game by 113 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the series. It also saw India lose a series at home after 12 long years.
