The 2025 USATF Half Marathon Championships are coming to Running City USA
America’s best athletes will compete on March 2 as part of the Publix Atlanta Marathon Weekend
ATLANTA – October 23, 2024 – The Atlanta Track Club will host the 2025 USATF Half Marathon Championships as a highlight of the Publix Atlanta Marathon Weekend on March 1-2, the club announced today.
The championships, which will be held as part of the Publix Atlanta Half Marathon on Sunday, March 2, will help select Team USA for the 2025 World Road Running Championships in San Diego, California, September 26-28. The top three men and women will qualify.
“March 2nd will mark almost five years since the Atlanta Track Club hosted the USA Olympic Marathon Trials in the biggest weekend of road racing the city has ever seen,” said CEO Rich Kenah. “The people of Run City USA came out in amazing numbers to support the Olympic Marathon Trials. this time they can run with the athletes who are vying for the chance to represent their country.”
Professional athletes will compete for $20,000 for first place for both men and women, surpassing a purse of at least $110,000 for the championships alone.
To be guaranteed entry into the USATF Half Marathon Championships, athletes must run the following times between September 1, 2023 and February 3, 2025:
- 10,000 meters: 28:20 (men), 32:40 (women)
- 10K Road: 29:20 (men), 33:30 (women)
- Half marathon: 1:07:00 (men), 1:17:00 (women)
- Marathon: 2:17:00 (men), 2:37:00 (women)
