The 2024 Cross Country season is here!
Monday is an easy day.
Most of the 560,000 high school boys and girls raced on Saturday.
Many ran a long run on Sunday.
So since it’s Monday, it should be an easy day for many.
Alf Shrubb was one of the greatest distance runners of the early 19th century. Shrubb held 28 world records, including the hour run (11 miles, 1,137 yards). Alf was an amateur from 1899-1905 and then a professional from 1905-1912. He won 1,000 of his 1,800 races. He was so good that Alf Shrubb raced against relay teams to keep him competitive. He won the 1903 and 1904 International Cross-Coast as an individual and team title. Alf loved Cross Country.
