Golf balls
Golfers always need golf balls, so you can’t go wrong here. These are the ones I usually buy – I like the feel, the price point and the Triple-Track Technology – but there are a lot to choose from. If you’re not sure what golf balls they use, a good rule of thumb (usually) is that the better they are, the more likely they are to buy a more expensive ball.

Range finder
Range finders are a golfer’s best friend, which is ironic because we often leave our best friends behind. I’ve lost quite a few distances over the years, mostly due to leaving them in the carts when I’m done with rounds. Start Monitor
This is more expensive and best for a golfer who puts a little more time into his game than the weekend warrior, but a launch monitor can be a really useful (and fun) item for players trying to improve. While pros may spend $14,000 on Trackmans to carry from one tournament to another, there are several smaller, less expensive items that can fit in golf bags. These devices are useful because while we may think we can get our 7-iron 170 yards or so into the driving range, that may not always be the case. A reliable launch monitor can give you more accurate information.

There are two reasons I think this is kind of cool. One, it’s easy to set up and take down in the backyard, and it can get me practicing my chopping. And two, the different pockets to target can make for a fun game to get kids involved. Because you know the drill: the more the kids want to play golf, the more we can play golf.
