2025 Mid-AM Women’s US: OB/Gyn among prominent competitors



Alyssa Godfrey is taking some time away from her daily work by giving babies in the hope of giving birds this week. Godfrey is one of the 132 competitors in the field of women’s championship in the middle of the amaters, which begins with the first round of playing game The dune of the Monterey Country Club Peninsula Club at Pebble Beach, Calif., Saturday. American Women’s MID is open to players who are at least 25 years old until the day of the championship opening and have a USGA handicone index that does not exceed 9.4. The field is determined by 29 qualifying sites around the country.

A new competitive player in her New York state, Godfrey attended Wake Forest University, but did not play Golf for the Division I. after college, she returned to her home club stream In Long Island, and qualified for women in the US in her first test earlier this year. Godfrey is one of the three players from her club who qualified among women.

“In the past two years, I liked to start playing some more local tours with women,” Godfrey said earlier this week. “I think it is really such a wonderful community of adult women to play with it. I wish I had the behavior and patience now at 30, when I was in high school. I don’t have a ton of official golf experience, but I’ve played my whole life.”

As an ob/Gyn Pa, Godfrey is one of several players with obvious occupations in the field. How does Godfrey balance a career required by playing high -level golf? She says she makes an effort to play two to three times a week, and credits her support team of other clinicians at New York Mount Sinai Hospital.

“During the summer, I build my schedule about some golf tournaments for which I have a team coverage, which is really amazing,” she said. “I work, of course, on women’s health and work with many women. And it’s just a good reminder that, outside your career, you can have other interests you follow, and it’s really nice to have a team after me that makes it happen to me.”

And how many of her colleagues know what a high -level player is?

“I have three participants who texted me this morning,” she said. “They are all emotionally invested and cheered, which is really fun.”
