Zheng Qinwen I am pressing a pause for her return.

The Gold Medal Olympic champion withdrew from Wuhan Open today.

Zheng, which was removed nearly two months and lost US Open due to elbow operation, began its return to Beijing, but was forced to withdraw to the third group of its second round against Linda Noska on Sunday.

“I’m here to assess the level of recovery of my elbow,” Zheng said after her pension in Beijing. “I said this before the match. I’m not playing at 100%.

“I’m playing with pain. But the pain must be manageable. As long as it’s beyond my control, this is the first time in my life to have surgery like this. I will not be very aggressive against such a background. I have to consider a longer professional career.”

Zheng will be replaced in the Wuhan Open draw by Jessica Bouzas Maniero of Spain. The main drawing will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 4pm with local time.
