IgA swiatek slammed WTA Tour’s stalled calendar as “Pretty Crazy”.
Zheng Qinwen SWIATEK criticism disputes that oppose the success of the pro tennis is the survival of the strongest.
Wimpledon Swiatte’s champion slammed the mandatory WTA tour rule demanding that the best players compete in 10 WTA 1000 events, five WTA 500 tournaments and four Grand Slams as superfluous and potentially dangerous health.
World no. 2 Swiatek calls the current WTA Schedule “overwhelming”.
“When I look at the schedule, I think we’re playing a lot, and the schedule is crazy. This is the first thing that will probably appear in my head,” swiate the media in Beijing earlier this week. “That’s why I try to share the year for shaking and just focus on the next swing.
“After a pre-season season four-week, eight days of vacation, if I would look at the end of December and think I would have to play for 11 months at the top of my game, I think that would be great. It is better to take it really step by step because the schedule is really sought after and harsh.”
She asked her reaction, Zheng, who turned into action in Asia after being rehabilitated by the shoulder operation, disagreed with the feelings of Swiatek.
The Olympic Champion of the Gold Medal, Zheng, said managing planning requirements is part of being a professional player.
“I mean, this is part of the game,” Zheng said. “As a professional player, that’s what it is, because we have to play that lots in the calendar.
“I think my situation is different from them. I (I am) coming from the operation, which is a really hasty decision to play here. But it is also the right decision for me because I want to see where my body is now …
“But I don’t think about professional players the calendar is too because the strongest players survive, and that is the rule in my head.”
Zheng, who withdrew from her match in Beijing against Linda Noskova in her third set, said she lost competition, adrenaline of the game and her fans during her Sabbath caused by tennis surgery.
“I think the things I have missed the most are to compete with other players because these days, I can only see them on TV,” Zheng said. “I was sometimes laying in my bed because I just finished the operation. I wish I could be open, but I couldn’t move my arm yet.
“I’m really happy to come back and compete again. Of course, I miss all the fans who are cheering for me. At the same time lost adrenaline, losing pressure to return to court.”
