William Zepeda says the beat of WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson will “Open doors ” for him on the 12th. Zepeda (33-0, 27 food) believes that its volume punch and body shots will be too much for Shakur (23-0, 11 COs) to resist in their 12-round main support fight on Dazn ppv at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
Shakur did not fight anyone with the offensive ability of Zepeda, and he was plagued with hand injuries since he came up to the 135-pound division in 2023. As such, he cannot use the little power as his chronic hand problems prevent him.
Alalshikh demands action fighting
Turki Alalshikh wants the July 12 meeting to have uninterrupted action, but Shakur will do himself to defeat if he doesn’t run out of Zepeda. He is not built for the type of war that the Mexican knockout artist will bring. He will be chewed apart within six rounds if he stands on his ground and has a dog fight.
“This battle is something I’ve been looking for for years, something I’ve been waiting for, and it comes at a good time. This is going to be a very demanding battle. Win against Shakur Will Open more doors for me. I could also face bigger battles, ”William Zepeda said Dazn boxDiscuss his fight against Shakur Stevenson.
Turki Alalshikh said this week that he wants to match Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz in November on a loaded card. It probably assumes that Zepeda Shakur is deprived of July 12, making him the new WBC lightweight champion.
Stevenson will be uninterrupted if he loses against Zepeda and will beg Turki to set up an immediate re -broadcast. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, will also have a campaign for the second fight, and he will be worthless to him without avenge the loss. One of the reasons why Hearn Shakur signed was to maneuver him in the mega fight against Gervonta Davis.
Zepeda’s volume -by -plan plan
“Obviously, Shakur is the hardest opponent I faced. We know his characteristics. All his technical aspects, his footwork and experience. I believe the qualities that will help me are mainly my volume punch and my body work,” Zepeda said.
I disagree that Shakur is Zepeda’s ‘hardest opponent’. Tevin Farmer was much harder. He stood in the bag and went to war with Zepeda during parts of both their two battles. Granted, Farmer was forced to move and keep to get out of the way, but he still traded a lot. Stevenson could never fight against the way Farmer fought without being stopped.
