England batsman Zach Crawley holds an unwanted record in Test cricket after falling to yet another low score in the ongoing Test series against New Zealand. Crawley was dismissed for just 5 off 17 balls in the second innings of the third Test at Hamilton.
He was trapped in front of the stumps by Matt Henry in the dying moments of Day 3. Crowley reviewed the decision after the on-field umpire ruled it out. However, it appeared that he had cut his leg and Crowley had to return to the dressing room.
It was also Henry’s last ball of the day. After losing his wicket, Zak Crawley joined the likes of Greg Matthews and Matthew Hayden on the list of unwanted records. He became the third striker on this list.
Zach Crawley joins Matthew Hayden for an unwanted record
With this wicket, Zak Crawley became the third batsman in Test cricket history to be dismissed by a single bowler six times in a three-match Test series. This was the sixth dismissal by Matt Henry in this series.

Zak Crawley’s poor form continues
Crawley has got out to Matt Henry in all six innings he has bowled this Test series. The opener looked clueless against Henry and had a tough time against him. Although this is not a great record to his name, Henry would be happy to hit a dangerous shot like him early in the innings.
It ended an unforgettable streak for Zach Crawley. The tall right-hander was the best of 21 in three Tests with just 52 runs at an average of 8.66. Usually known to bat aggressively, he has failed to score big in this series.
New Zealand are looking for a consolation win
Meanwhile, New Zealand put up a strong fight in the last Test after losing the three-match series 0-2. England completely dominated New Zealand with both bat and ball in this series, but the hosts showed good composure to make a comeback.
New Zealand scored 347 in the first innings on the back of half-centuries from Tom Latham and Mitchell Santner, with important cameos from their batting order. In reply, England scored a total of 143, none of which was a significant score.
Joe Root top-scored for England with 32, while series top-scorer Harry Brook was dismissed for a golden duck. Matt Henry took four wickets while Will O’Rourke and Mitchell Santner took three wickets each.
New Zealand scored a mammoth 453 in the second innings to take the game away from the visitors. Kane Williamson scored 156 off 204 balls and Daryl Mitchell also scored an important half-century.
