Tottenham traveled to Man City on Saturday evening with both clubs needing a result and Yves Bissouma put his side on the back foot within the first 14 seconds of the game.
Spurs came into the match at the Etihad Stadium on the back of back-to-back defeats before the international break, losing 3-2 to Galatasaray in the Europa League before suffering a major setback against Ipswich Town, in which the d’Ange Postecoglou defeated the Tractor Boys 2. -1.
In the opposite corner, Man City’s results have been as bad as Pep Guardiola’s have lost four games in a row in unusual fashion.
Three points on Saturday would be vital for the Premier League champions as they cannot afford to fall any further behind Liverpool before they face the Reds next weekend at Anfield.
The Manchester club received a huge boost during the week as Pep Guardiola put pen to paper on a new contract at the Etihad. This may bring some stability to his season, but only time will tell if that will be the case.
Man City received another boost in the opening 14 seconds of their clash with Tottenham as Yves Bissouma was shown a yellow card and it would not have made Postecoglou happy.

Bissouma gave the ball away in his opening action against Man City and, looking to redeem himself, the midfielder brought down Phil Foden as the England star headed towards the Spurs goal. The Mali international’s entry was not needed as Spurs had plenty of men to cover their mistake.
The The Mali star was recently withdrawn from the Tottenham squad and that won’t have helped this opinion.
The decision was crazy from Bissouma and Postecoglou would not have been happy as the midfielder had to play the entire game on thin ice, which would have affected many of his actions in the middle of the park.
The 28-year-old has been mostly good in a Spurs shirt since arriving from Brighton as part of a Offer of 35 million euros in 2022, but this was one of the dumbest actions of his Tottenham career.
