Manchester United legend Gary Neville has warned the Chelsea star Cole Palmer who was being played by Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola yesterday.
The England international did not have his best game for Chelsea as they lost 3-1 away to his former club Man City at the Etihad Stadium.
Neville believes Chelsea fans will have been disappointed and underwhelmed after seeing Palmer play like this against City, and it won’t have helped to see him chatting and laughing with Guardiola on the pitch straight after the game.
Watch Neville hit out at Palmer below, warning him he let himself be played by Guardiola…
“Cole, you’re kidding mate.”

Cole Palmer criticized by Gary Neville
“I’ll say something about Cole Palmer,” Neville said. “I was talking to Pep Guardiola on the pitch right at the end of the game, and he was smiling, and Pep Guardiola does… Cole, he’s playing you. You are playing here.
“You haven’t done enough on that pitch. He’s an incredible player, absolutely brilliant, but you know something, those Chelsea fans who traveled today, three or four thousand of them in that far corner, they wanted better than that, they really don’t want to see you chatting with the opposing coach and smiling at the end of the game.
“I’m not being old school, something like that… Guardiola plays you here. I know he had it here, but he sold it.
“Talk inside, I’m not against it, obviously he’s played for the manager, but at the end I felt there was something that didn’t feel right from Cole Palmer’s perspective.”
Palmer has mostly been a fantastic performer for Chelsea, so we imagine fans will forgive him for this one, even if it wasn’t the 22-year-old’s best appearance.
