Yograj Singh gives a shocking twist to MS Dhoni and calls him a ‘motivated captain’.

Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh has hit back at his comments about legendary captain MS Dhoni. Yograj recently called Dhoni a “motivated captain” who knows how to read the wicket and get the best out of his bowlers.

Yograj also called Dhoni “fearless” and revealed an incident where he feared the world’s most fearsome bowler. Yograj’s latest comments came as a big shock as he had earlier criticized Dhoni for ruining his son’s career. Yuvraj Singh.

Yograj Singh takes a shocking turn in MS Dhoni

Speaking on the YouTube show Unfiltered by Samdish, Yograj Singh was asked about MS Dhoni and his captaincy. Yograj called Dhoni a motivated captain and claimed that he can read the wicket quickly.

“I see (MS) Dhoni as a very motivated captain who can tell people what to do. The best thing about Dhoni was that he could tell the players where to bat by reading the wickets,” noted Yograj.

Calling him a “fearless” man, Yograj cited an incident that showed the world how fearless Dhoni was. He also feels that there are very few players with such a fearless demeanor in modern day cricket.

“What I liked most about him was that he was a fearless person. If you remember in Australia, it was shot in my grill Mitchell Johnson and he didn’t budge a bit, he stood there and the next ball pulled him for a six. Aise log kaafi kam hote hai (There are very few like him),” he added.

In 2024, during an interview on Zee Switch’s YouTube channel, Yograj Singh attacked MS Dhoni and accused him of ending Yuvraj Singh’s career. He even asked Dhoni to look in the mirror and refused to forgive him.

“I will not forgive MS Dhoni. He should look in the mirror. He is a very great cricketer but whatever he did against my son is now coming out; This can never be forgiven in life,” said Yograj.

He even went to the extent of asking for the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, for his son Yuvraj Singh for winning the World Cup for India in 2011 despite suffering from cancer.

“I dare everyone to give birth to a son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag said in the past that there won’t be another Yuvraj Singh. India should reward him with Bharat Ratna for playing with cancer and winning the World Cup for the country,” he said.

MS Dhoni is all set to play IPL 2025

MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020. However, he is still an active player in the Indian Premier League. The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman continued to play for Chennai Super Kings even after his retirement and led the team to the IPL title in 2021 and 2023.

Dhoni will next be seen in action in IPL 2025 after being retained by the franchise in the uncapped player category. He was retained by CSK for INR 4 crore. He dismissed reports of his retirement and wants to enjoy the game while he plays.
