In a contest that went down to the last over, Sophie Devine was once again determined and ensured Gujarat held their nerve despite a spirited battle led by Niki Prasad and Sneh Rana.

Niki Prasad and Sneh Rana lead DC’s fightback
Chasing 175, Delhi Capitals got off to a positive start through Shafali Verma, but his dismissal led to a steady loss of wickets. Big hitters Lizelle Lee, Laura Wolvaardt and captain Jemimah Rodrigues all got starts but could not convert them into significant scores.
As the wickets continued to tumble, the Capitals fell behind the pace required and at one stage the chase slipped away from them.
Just when the game looked over, Niki Prasad and Sneh Rana produced a sensational counter-attack. Nicky hit a fearless 47 off just 24 balls, hitting boundaries at will and reigniting Delhi’s hopes.

Sneh Rana matched his intensity, smashing 29 off 15 balls as the duo added a quick-fire 70-run partnership that took the match by storm. Needing 8 in the final, the Capitals came close to an unexpected victory.
Under pressure, Sophie Devine stepped up when it mattered most. He effectively sealed the contest for Gujarat Giants by dismissing both Sneh Rana and Niki Prasad in a tense final over. His figures of 4 for 37 highlighted his impact with the ball after earlier contributions with the bat.
Support came from Rajeshwari Gayakwad, who took 3 for 20, applying steady pressure during the middle overs.
Delhi Capitals eventually finished at 171 for 8fell heartily short by three runs.
