After posting a competitive 178 for 6, RCB Women backed it up with a disciplined bowling effort led by Sayali Satghare to restrict Gujarat Giants to 117 for 8.
Gautami Naik anchors the RCB innings with a career-best knock
Batting first after Gujarat Giants elected to bowl, RCB endured an early swing as Grace Harris and Georgia Voll got off cheaply. Captain Smriti Mandhana steadied the innings with a fluent 26, but the onus of rebuilding really fell on Gautami Naik.
The young batter rose to the occasion with a unique and confident knock, hitting 73 off 55 balls with seven fours and a six. Gautami showed maturity beyond his years as he cleverly spun his strike as he punished loose deliveries. His crucial 60-plus partnership with Mandhana regained momentum and laid the foundation for a strong total.
Once set up, RCB accelerated effectively in the second half of the innings. Richa Ghosh played a quick cameo scoring 27 wickets at a strike rate of 135 and ensured that the scoring rate remained healthy. Nadine de Klerk added stability at the death, remaining unbeaten, while Shreyanka Patil provided a short but explosive finish.
Despite disciplined spells from Ashleigh Gardner and Kashvee Gautam, Gujarat Giants conceded 21 overs, which made it even stronger. RCB’s total reaches 178 for 6 – Tough score on Vadodara surface.
Sayali Satghare leads RCB’s ruthless bowling display
In reply, Gujarat Giants never found momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. The chase was derailed early when Sayali Satghare removed Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine on the power play to rattle the Giants at 4-2.
Sayali’s spell proved decisive as he finished with impressive figures of 3/21, claiming major scalps including that of GG captain Gardner. His ability to produce movement and hold tight lines kept the pressure on the batting side tight.
Gujarat’s middle order struggled to recover from the early damage. Anushka Sharma resisted briefly while Gardner fought hard with a 43-ball 54 but lacked consistent support at the other end. Radha Yadav and Nadine de Klerk complemented Sayali’s efforts, sharing the wickets and making the required run-rate rise steeply.

The Giants reached 117 for 8 at the end of the 20th over. RCB’s pitching was equally sharp, tightening the screws further during the middle overs.
