From any point of view, the rise of Jeeno Thiticul is impressive.
The 22-year-old grew up in Ratchaburi, Thailand, a small town not far from Bangkok who did not have a golf course. Thitikul learned the game in a range of driving, which ignited its erection. She won her first professional tour at 14 years old. She won her first LPGA tour in 2022 at the age of 19. Later that year, she became the second youngest player to ever arrive in world no. 1. Last month, Thitikul captured its place as world no. 1, Overtaking nelly cordwho gave up the title after 71 weeks.
Thitikul’s talent has always been visible. There is no weakness in her game. While she still will not score the door and win her first major championship, there is little doubt that she will eventually shine in the biggest stages. Because while Thiticul has a technically perfect pace and a pure heart love for competition, there is a deeper reason for her success, something she has constantly displayed throughout her. Something something she showed once again this week at Fm championship at TPC Boston.
“As I said earlier, I think I’m the same person,” Thiticul said when asked to return to no. 1 in the world. “Judah is just a smart number that is-Golfi, ranking, statistics, they just build it.
“I don’t think I’m good. I don’t think I’m so good.”
That’s right. Jeeno Thitikul, winner five times and no. 1 World, you don’t think it’s “so good”. That is that humility, the type born of learning of the game in a range of direction, which keeps thiticul based and wanting to dig it from dirt. She loves the game and likes to compete. She wants to win and win great. But her moving factor is a pure love of the game and a desire to give her family a better life. This is something she believes she has achieved.
Don’t make a mistake, Thiticul knows it’s gifted. But she remains amazed at all that has come to Golf.
“Surviving here in the LPGA,” Thitikul said when asked what she surprised her about her success. “I’m like, it’s so many players who got talent and then just – I swear when I was young, I just thought about winning a tour, only a LPGA tour would be enough for me.
“But to hear where I am now, I don’t know how I get it.”
Perhaps there is the key to raising it and receiving the constant elevation.
For Jeno Thitikul, the joy of where she has made her in the game shines in every step she takes. There is a tremendous gratitude for how far it has done, but its humility leads to a ruthless work ethic to keep the dream impossible by clashing and a rare perspective that, at least, seems to Release it by pressure This is normally coming when the beating talent in the world does not meet the expectations when required.
“Majardo Major, I just want to make the cut, to be honest,” Thiticul told KPMG women’s PGA when asked if she felt pressure to win a major. “It would be really great to win it, and I can definitely say it would be as if everyone dreams of winning a major. For me, what I have now under my belt, I am very happy with everything I have achieved. If I could take it, it would be fine, but if not, I have nothing to regret.”
Thitikul’s journey has armed it with the humility and perspective needed to get up on top of the game and stay there. But she also currently has the gift of youthful naivety that allows her to face these things without a burden. She is only 22 years old. Everything is before Jeeno Thitikul. She does not need to worry about finishing time or not maximizing her gifts.
She can never feel it. Perhaps what makes Jeeno Thiticul the big is that everything her talent and golf journey have already brought and have filled her soul. There is no concern for failure to meet expectations when you have already exceeded anything you thought was possible.
Jeeno Thitikul is “so good” whether she wants to accept it or not. But the fact that she does not see what her talent has already shown that everyone can be what allows her to continue to climb, even if she does not have a desired destination.
After all, she has already gone further than ever in her dreams.
