Evans, Ga.-When Mirabel Ting came out of the point area shortly after 1pm with local time, it received too five and five high in the back from its supporters. After posting a 68-year-old her low-birth in Augusta’s national women’s amateur, and eight better than her outcome the day before-the delivery was detained.
“It was a tough round yesterday,” sounded to reporters. “I felt pressure I have never felt before. Today I just got there and told myself I want to play on Saturday, and I hope to get a chance to play on Saturday now. I did everything I can in the Golf course today.”
Unfortunately for ting, her bold attempt came out JUST Short after playing the champions to withdraw to 144 strokes over two days, she found herself a shot out of the cut line on Thursday afternoon. On Saturday, while 32 of her peers compete for the most prestigious title in amateur Golf, she will play the role of spectator outside the ropes.
“There is nothing I can do,” said ting. “I just have to go on. I have three more tournaments to go for the season. I will simply continue to play and see where you get me.”
Golfists are notorious about their ability to mask emotions. But on the day cut in Anwa, why worry? With a trip to Augusta National in line, there is no secret how much it means any shot.
One side of the spectrum, you have jam – and relief. On Thursday, no golf player embodied more than Karolina Lopez-Chacarra.
As an amateur of the 25th rank in the world, three-time All-American has a lot of experience by raising its game when the lights are brighter. However, despite its success elsewhere, Retreat Champions has repeatedly confused it. In the previous four beginnings of Anwa, the Spaniard lost cutting every time, including a heart attack two years ago in which she lost a three-foot in the last hole.
This year, she left no doubt. With rounds 70 and 72, Lopez-Chacarra made the cut with two strokes and would remove it for the first time in the last round in Augusta. After her time was confirmed, she issued great relief as she embraced her family members in participation.
Carla Bernat Escuder had a similar sense of relief after completing her round. Despite the 68th year post to climb the T3 and sat down only one blow behind the leaders (Kiara Romero and Lottie Woad), she had a sincere appreciation for her round when talking to her supporters.
“It was a quarrel,” she said.
When those close to the lead are grinding on the cut day, you know that those who will be separated on the verge are feeling the pressure. Exhibition a? Kelly xu. Stanford Junior started the day immediately on the line and remained there for most of the day. At the time she arrived in the 9th box (her last hole of the day) she had to card a bird more to make the cut. She only did it, and when she saw her cadet near the Flash media area, they both shared a prolonged hug.
Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio felt the injured on the other side of the bubble. After her round, tears joined in her eyes as she hit the note area. Despite playing an extraordinary nine three-Zogjsh nine to enter the magic number, Bogeys back-after-back to finish its round threw it off the cut line. After signing her card, she went to the back of the 18th green and sat alone in a curve. She grabbed her backyard book from her posterior pocket and hit her legs lying in disappointment in a bad dream.
With heart, most of the 72 players who tie it to start the week will not receive competitive repetition on the largest golf scene. With only the top 30 countries and the links that qualified for the last round of Saturday, many harsh competitors left the withdrawal of champions, asking themselves what it could have been.
A consolation price waits for broken Friday from the heart: Each player in the field will receive a non-competitive round at Augusta National, along with a rotation around the PAR-3 course. Maybe a trip to the sweetest golf place will remove the sour taste of frustration.
