William Zepeda believes he will drive ‘Shakur Stevenson out of the ring’ on July 12

Oscar de la Hoya says William Zepeda told him that WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson the “Perfect style for me” to beat him next month on July 12. Zepeda (33-0, 27 CO’s) is seen as the underdog against Shakur (23-0, 11 COs), but he is not worried about it. He sees Stevenson’s style as ideal for him to dominate. Zepeda says he will run “Shakur out of the ring”. If Shakur runs all night, the New Yorker will boo from the stadium, and his career will be over.

Shakur vs. Zepeda will fight in the 12-round co-founded attack on Dazn ppv at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The main liner is Edgar Berlanga against Hamzah Sheeraz, who is an excellent super -middleweight competition between two major punchers.

Shakur’s “glass hands” fear

De la Hoya feels that Shakur’s glass hands could betray him against Zepeda because he would have to sit down on his shots with full force to delay the Mexican volume puncher. Even with two healthy hands, Shakur will have major problems with the pressure of Zepeda. But with its fragile hands, it can be impossible.

You need to give a top rank and match room a lot of credit for sending Shakur to prevent all the dangerous punchers from being beaten repeatedly during his eight-year professional career. For this battle he cannot be protected from Zepeda, because Turki Alalshikh pays him too much money.

Zepeda predicts Stevenson upset

“It’s going to be very difficult, but I keep talking to William Zepeda, and he tells me and promises me, ‘Oscar, he has the perfect style for me. Trust me, I’m going to run him out of the ring, ” the promoter Oscar de la Hoya said Golden Boy Promotions When asked how William Zepeda will defeat WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on July 12.

It may not be difficult for Zepeda. The hardest part of him is to chase Shakur, because once he has himself in a position to land, he will cut him. Zepeda will take the shots that Stevenson throws to land his volume shots to the body and head.

“I think,” Wait, Shakur is not a messy. You know, he has the defense that is very difficult to crack, but it is very difficult. “If William Zepeda is in his A-game, and he puts the constant pressure he is used to.

If Zepeda is fighting as he did in March in Cancun with Tevin Farmer, it will be difficult for Shakur to survive through the sixth round. Farmer, who is much stronger, larger and tougher than Stevenson, seemed to be about to hollow in the first half. He turns his back on Zepeda, as if he lifts the white flag of surrender. Fortunately for Tevin, the referee did not stop the fight as many others would.

De la Hoya’s disguised praise

“He doesn’t hit too hard, or that’s what people say, until you’re in the ring with him, right? This is when you are beaten, and you feel the punch. On paper it is a wonderful game. It’s a perfect opportunity for the winner to come out and become a star, ‘says De la Hoya.

Oscar sounds incurable here and says nice things about Shakur. He did not look good in one of his last two battles, though he was linked to mediocre opposition. Since Stevenson’s disastrous performance against Edwin de Los Santos in 2023, he has fought these poor punchers and has not impressed:
