Tonight is a special night, and we will watch an event that was never supposed to happen.
Many were quick to describe the fight as a circus fight when it was announced.
Jake Paul, a celebrity turned fighter with a less-than-attractive boxing history, and Mike Tyson, 58, a veteran well past his prime.
It sounds outrageous for a 58-year-old man to beat a man in the prime of his youth, but we’re talking about Mike Tyson.
Mike Tyson is a man who redeemed himself and rediscovered his passion and thirst for life.
Now, when it comes to boxing, he returned to boxing four years ago in an exhibition fight against Roy Jones.
After that he kept his interest warm for more boxing until this offer came.
Not many get second chances in life, but I think for Tyson God made an exception.
He let him have one last crack at glory.
Although no heavyweight title is on the line, this is an official fight, and it will be recorded as one in his boxing record.
Mike’s most important asset has always been his ferocious hitting power.
Punching power is the one thing that leaves the fighter last, and that is a fact.
“Kick this rude boy’s rear”
Many people guarantee that Mike will prevail with a major knockout.
And there is a reason for that. Paul is an improved boxer, but he doesn’t have the defensive moves of someone like Mayweather, so he can’t avoid getting hit. If you get hit by Mike Tyson, that’s a problem.
For the first time in his career, Jake Paul may be discovering the humbling truth that you can’t underestimate a boxing legend. Despite his age, Mike Tyson can still do damage.
This article may be biased. Maybe I’m too excited to see Mike back in the ring, but a solid performance will inspire many others to return to their passion, and boxing can recalibrate its identity.
Will Tyson win?
Only God knows if this is the right moment for him. Maybe the script says he will lose gracefully, or it will be a draw or, as most of us hope, a significant win for Mike.
No one knows what the outcome will be except God.
He’s 58. So what?
Okay, he’s 58. So what? Fatherhood can be intimidating for everyone. Add to this what society tells you, and you have the result that many retire prematurely.
They give up their dreams and passion and live mediocre lives.
I’m 52 and have a lot to care about and a lot of dreams to achieve, so I’m moving on.
Nobody expected to see Mike Tyson back in the ring since he retired twenty years ago.
At that time, he was at his worst physically and mentally, and Father Time easily defeated him.
But not now. Now he can fight with more heart, a better mind and a reformed character.
Will it be enough to beat the much younger Paul?
In all honesty, I hope Mike makes it, but even if he doesn’t, I’ll still be happy for him. Getting this far is a massive achievement. He is a great inspiration to us all.
Many hate Tyson’s audacity to challenge a young stallion at this age and hope he will be humiliated, discouraging anyone else who dreams of doing similar things.
Spirit over Matter
The spiritual element can make a difference in this battle. There is an internal force that he can channel, and it can change the outcome in his favor.
Faith strengthens the body and mind.
Tyson has a different aura now. He has evolved. He opened himself up to the infinite power of our creator, and that is something that cannot be made up because it is within.
We saw this happen a lot with the other Tyson. Tyson Fury became a different man and defeated Wilder three times. The first time, officially tied, was the biggest one. Wilder’s deadly punch hurt him in the twelfth round, but somehow he found the strength to get up and finish the fight.
Since then, he has experienced more knockdowns, but has always found a way to get up and continue in all of his fights.
Time stops where faith begins
Time stops where faith begins. Those with faith have all the youth they need to accomplish the most impossible tasks.
Those who don’t are the ones who more often feel old and weak.
