Will Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis receive credit for his debut victory over Uisma Lima?

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis says he plans to make a statement in his debut on 154 on October 11, 2025, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The event is shown on Dazn.

Lima (14-1, 10 COs) was selected by ‘Boots’ Ennis’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, what a “Hungry” Fighter to get him ready for the larger fighters, such as Vergil Ortiz Jr. And Xander Zayas. Hearn expects Lima (32) to be ‘tough’ and capable of in this battle, which sounds like code for a Easy mark.

“Yes, that fight is there. Our main focus is at the moment to deal with matters, get out of Lima and look good. I want to make a big statement for the 154-pound business. Once I handle business it doesn’t matter who it is, ‘Jaron’ Boots’ said Ennis Matchroom Boxing on his upcoming debut on 154 against Uussa Lima next month on October 11.

The problem is that Ennis may not receive credit for defeating the obscure fighter, Ushma Lima, because he is not a fighter of which many fans have ever heard before. He was off the network during his six -year professional career and fighting against these guys:

  • Shervantaigh Koopman
  • Sukhdeep Singh Bhatti
  • Haro Matevosyan
  • Araik Marutjan

Those enemies are Lima’s last four opponents, and he fought against them for two years. It is amazing that Uisma would fight these kinds of opponents from 2023 to 2025, rather than acting to the world class to tackle some of the top 15 levels.

“I’m at a new weight class, I feel it’s time. But the time is here now. It’s time to show up,” Ennis said.

It would have been better if Ennis’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, chose a better well-known and probably more talented, top-15 contender than Lima. What jumps out of fans is when they look at the one man with which Lima was beaten by Aaron McKenna on June 16, 2023.

Lima is completely dominated in that battle, and lost by a running unanimous decision of 10 round by the scores 92-98, 93-98 and 91-100. McKenna is not considered one of the talented middle weights, so “boots” may have fought him rather than Lima.
