Dillian Whyte is one of the legions of people who want former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to play dirty pool by bending the rules by defeating WBA, WBC and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh in eight days’ time. too smart
Fans urge anger to cheat against Usyk
People who want Fury to win overwhelmingly advise him to cheat against Usyk, which is worrying. If Tyson doesn’t have the talent to beat Usyk, why would his fans and countrymen want him to bend the rules?
What does this say about their moral code of ethical behavior? The basic problem is that Fury is not good enough to beat Usyk, and roughing him up is NOT going to help. Does Fury really want to be seen as Turki Alalshikh who has to resort to rowhouse tactics to beat his former conqueror?
British craftsman Whyte wants Fury to use the same tactics that worked for him in his victory over former cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham on April 20, 2013. That was a long, long time ago when Fury was 24 years old and much thinner than he is today 36 and looks closer to 50.
I get the impression that Fury is so desperate to win that he will be completely ruthless in the ring. Hopefully the referee is non-partisan and will do his job to penalize and disqualify Fury if necessary if he goes medieval, and treat the fight like it’s a 5th century Dark Ages struggle.
Usyk will not let anger bully him
Physically, the ‘Gypsy King’ is not the eager, mobile, youthful fighter he was 11 years ago when he fought Cunningham and scored a 7th round knockout by holding and striking. Usyk isn’t going to let Fury use the same approach against him, and there’s no way the referee is going to stand by and let that happen. There will be too much of a negative backlash.
“He has to be aggressive and try to cheer him up. (Fury) has to fight him like he fought Deontay Wilder and Steve Cunningham the second time around,” said Dillian Whyte. talkSport Boxinggiving his take on how Tyson Fury should fight unified triple-belt heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk to be successful in their December 21 rematch.
“When Steve Cunningham put him down, Fury got up and got physical and started pushing him and started handling him and started picking him up,” Whyte continued. “He (Fury) might lose a few points, but who cares? Just go in there. He has to try to pull himself up.”
