David Price believes veteran heavyweight Derek Chisora will fight Francis Nganno In his next fight in Saudi Arabia after defeating Otto Wallin last Saturday night in Manchester, England with a unanimous 12-round decision.
Ngannou (0-2) would be dangerous to a fighter like Chisora because he hits so hard and keeps festivals at slow festivals. Chisora would be a sitting duck against Ngannou.
Price also mentions Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker as possibilities for Chisora. Parker has beaten Derek twice, and it would be a big step backwards for the New Zealander to fight from the opposition of world-class like Daniel Dubois to a low level like Chisora. Most of the top 15 contenders would beat Chisora. His team chose the worst in terms of force in Wallin to improve his chances of winning. Even a lower feeder like Jemaine Franklin would have been too much for Chisora.
There is a zero chance that Derek will use his IBF -sheltered place, which he earned last night, to challenge Dubois because it would be a 100% slaughter. Dubois would beat Chisora in the first round, and there would be a tremendous setback of fans who felt ripped off by the organizers.
You cannot bring Chisora in with a good heavyweight because he will be killed, and it is bad for the promoters who offer the opportunity and a terrible look for the sport. Chisora beat, as it was carefully selected last night against the Otto Wallin. This man was well fed before this fight.
I don’t think Parker wants to be seen to take this battle unless he is offered a lot of money and would get a knockout loss to Dubois. It would be a difficult sale, because Parker has beaten Chisora twice, and it seems useless for them to fight a third time.
The 41-year-old Chisora (36-13, 23 CO’s) said after the fight that he earned a ‘blockbuster’ for his 50th fight, and he called Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr uSyk as his two choices. However, the guys will not fight against a ham and Egger like Chisora for obvious reasons.
Ngannou (0-2) would be the ideal opponent for Chisora if he could get him, because the struggle would create interest, and he would have a chance to win if he wasn’t through one of the big shots of the 38 – Year old.
“I think it will be Francis Ngannou in Saudi. That’s what he reckons, ”David Price tells Ring magazine Who he believes that Derek Chisora will fight for Fight #50 next Saturday night after his win over Otto Wallin. “Whoever he fights, it will be an excellent competition style.
Price adds that he believed that the knockout that Chisora recorded in the Wallin match seemed more like he was out of balance, and that’s what Otto said. He said his feet became entangled. I watched the fight and felt that both KnockDowns were false, bad calls by the referee. It wasn’t knocking out. Price says it would have been a draw if you take away the two Knockdowns.
The scores were 114-112, 116-110 and 117-109. I won Wallin the fight 7-5. I didn’t count the two knockdowns because it was slips.
