Wilder Says Joshua-Jake Paul Fight Looks ‘Scripted’

Deontay Wilder says he believes the Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul fight is “written” for December 19. He has no evidence to support his theory, but he says he thinks it’s an orchestrated match because of the size difference, Joshua is a former champion, and still active with his career.

Former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder says that Jake Paul’s fight against Mike Tyson was “fun and games. But now Jake is fighting a true professional in AJ, and he doesn’t believe he’s capable of mixing it up with that type of fighter.

Is AJ still Elite or just famous?

The perception many fans have of the 36-year-old Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) is that of a mentally and physically broken fighter from years of hard fights during his 12-year professional career. Although he has yet to run a gauntlet of tough opponents, there have been enough B-level fighters to chip away at him. He was never the fighter his British fans believed him to be.

If you look at AJ with both eyes open, you could already see weakness in him in 2012 when he fought Roberto Cammarelle in the London Olympics and got a victory he didn’t deserve.

The 2017 fight against the then 40-year-old Wladimir Klitschko confirmed the fact that Joshua was fool’s gold. Fans with hero worship couldn’t see what they were facing. AJ wasn’t that good of a fighter from the start. So, for Jake Paul to beat AJ, it would show that he wasn’t that good, and now he’s a worn down version of a flawed product.

“I think it’s written a little bit because of the weight difference, and Joshua is a former champion. He’s also active right now,” Deontay Wilder tells Fight Hub TVgives his thoughts on the Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul fight on December 19 in Miami.

Wilder: Tyson fight was ‘Fun and Games’

“This is the first time we’ve seen Paul against an active fighter. We saw him against (58-year-old) Mike Tyson. It was all fun and games. But now you’re dealing with a real professional. We’ll see how it ends. Like I said, I think it’s written.

“I want everybody to have fun. I want them to enjoy themselves because we risk our lives for other people’s entertainment. Just go home safe to have memories to say we did a good job,” Wilder said.
