If you were following the news of the equipment, you know this week was a big week for the iron market.
Only to polish the score card, the title began series T, which consisted of T100, T150, T250, T250* and T350. Ping started I240 and Callaway threw X-forged, X-Forgated Max and Ti-Fusion 250. Yes, all this happened in the four-day space, and for someone who does so to live, it was a work attack to try, understand and understand where it all fell. Because this is the question at the end of the day, everything there, what is the iron that I (you, we, we) have to play? How can we list all the information about ball speed, starting, rotation, field interaction, Yada Yada Yada?
I was in the same pickle until I asked myself some really honest questions. If you look at the first half of the video I made in the T series, you will take an inner look at what I am personally trying to perform with my game. You can watch the video below, but in short, it’s quite simple. How can I get my iron game from an responsibility to an asset again?

So how to do this? If everything there is good, how can I know what is good for me?
I came to my answer with a simple list of questions, and that helped me to get the handcuffs that hit the market this week.
- What do I need? Forgiveness and versatility in a 5-hekuri and 6-hekuri. After I recently dumped my 4th 4-hibrid, but not only did it save me shots, but also added three extra clubs in my bag. Where four normal iron had a 95-overall transportation in it, the frauds went 200, and I could not last too much 220 if I would really open it. With a 4-hybrid, I have a chippy or meat 205 and 230 if I really want to destroy it. This is high, low, fades, pulls, weak, or knuckling. The same rules should be applied to my 5 and 6 handcuffs. No, I don’t need the wide yard gaps, but I need the top floor in a wrong blow. This is non -negotiable.
- What do I want? This will always go down to optics. My there is from a view of the appearance are offset, short blade length and bounce. Offset to me is essential because if there is not enough, my losses become unfair, and I find myself fighting a right -handed blow throughout the day. The short length of the blade helps close the head and provides facial squares up, softening the right miss I hate. The jump is huge, especially with the shortest clubs, so I can be aggressive through the terrain without fear that the club slows down, which can affect everything if you are not paying attention.
- What will I give up to play better? For gears, this is always the big question. Am I ready to sacrifice the braking appeal to play the best golf? At 48 and with my falling game at the moment, the answer is definitely yes. I would play a bag of shovels to start playing great golf again. That is why when I went through OEM visits to try all the new things, I was actually quite happy that my ball hit was at worst. If I could find quality when I’m hitting it badly, it’s an iron that should have my attention.
Let’s take a look at what we tried for the new beginnings. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried the new ping i240 yet but Kris McCormack came deep here with all the information.

I will show this with my game in mind to keep it simple and leave the shackles of improving the super game for later.
Tixa of title
T-100: 7-PW they perform as the other iron that is near and loved for my heart, Callaway apex tcb. The T-100 has “quite” compensation, the very manageable length of the blade for me and they pass through the ground perfectly. What was really an eye opening was how good these things were out of order. As Jack Harsh mentioned in his writing In the T series, keeping the rotation from the rough is just stunning. I kept at least 1000rpms of rotation from the rough vs my old handcuffs, which is crazy. This is a serious value added.
T-150: Very easy here, I get everything I want for T-100 with a “little more” apology and ball speed. Nothing crazy but enough to get some views at points 5 and 6-I have.
T-250: In a very surprising development, you can almost compare these apples with apple with T-150, with a little higher start and keeping the ball speed that are the thing. So in my case, these can also make a truly entertaining opportunity at the top of the set.

X-for-shaped: Two years ago, these would have been an intelligent for me 4-PW. In total. They are soft, the interaction of the terrain is pristine, forgiving enough and the appeal of the bag is off the tables. They can be the best cuffs of Callaway I have ever seen. But as we sit today, I could only do these 8-PW. Why? Since they are a one -piece counterfeiting, there is not enough “help” in the center strikes to grow the floor I continue to bring. As someone who usually hits it thin when the wheels fall, I need all the help I can get. Just being honest, in my good days I’m hitting anything well, but in bad days I can’t afford to give up the performance I can get from a multi-material construction. This is where technology begins, even with player shackles.
X-Forgated Max: Now we are talking!
From everything we discussed, this group I could play 4-PW now and get better. But it’s not that simple. To play a full set of these, I would accept one thing or two with short cuffs. And no, it’s not hitting them too far, it’s dropping. Since I started playing golf, I have always learned to keep my short cuffs with rotation. This is the only way I know how to play golf. What I found with X-Forged Max is that although the window is completely 4 to 7, 8-PW, it takes a little more work to subtract them. Can I make it work? Yes. But it would take some subtlety with lofts, lies and maybe shafts. Yes, in this case, I would consider having a short set of shafts to get what I want. This may look like the golden dynamic between the S400 4-7 and the Nippon 120s (Low Launching and Spinny) at 8-PW. Get Wild, I know. Don’t make a mistake, these handcuffs are so fun, I’m thinking about it. But there is another option.
AI-150: Like the X-Forged Max, the AI-150 speaks to players like me in many ways. Feeling, watching, interaction of the ground is everything there, and take this, short cuffs fly low and prominent as I like. However, I like the slightly larger trail of the maximum x-shaped to 4-7 iron. So here we go again, what to do? Combo em? Yes. As for the Callaway testing, the best setting of the combination for me under the new Callaway umbrella is 4-7 x-forged max and 8-PW AI-150. Now this is a fun group.

What is the purpose of all this?
As I mentioned in this week Podcast fully equippedThere is no better anymore. Companydo company has bangers these days. So the trick to shake through all the new gears of gears is to ask yourself the questions I asked. When I approached that way, I was able to focus on the platforms that really made sense to me and just admire what I think are wonderful but will not help me.
I finally chose my players and did it by trying to keep myself as honest as possible. What excites me most is that I have been able to raise my floor in several ways. I will get into all this when my Witb video hits.
It is a very fun time to search around new sticks. You literally cannot make a bad choice. If you choose wisely. This is the deception here, looking at everything through the lentils of raising your floor. Hard not to get it better.
