Should you really aim to never leave a short blow?

There is nothing more disappointing in the course than hitting a delay blow that is tracking straight into the hole just to see it stop a short revolution. To make things worse, you are sure you will hear some by loved by your partners playing for it.
“Never leave a bird of short birds!”
It is a situation with which we are all known, and we pledge to never leave a bird’s bird again. After all, a short blow never has the chance to go into the hole, right?
Well, technically That’s true. But according to the data, hitting any past stroke, the hole will do more harm than well in the long run. Guru statistics and Golf FOUNDER Scott Fawcett Explains why in the video below.
Should you always hit the past strokes in the hole?
Hitting strokes with enough conviction to always flip the ball a few meters in front of the hole is the tips that have been passed for years. In fact, many people insist that this is the “perfect speed” to hit every blow.
However, advanced analytics is challenging that story.
According to research done by Fawcett (and others), the best placers in PGA Tour receive 75 percent of their delays (outside 30 feet) within 10 percent of their first well. So if they have a 30 -meter stroke, they will leave the ball inside the three legs of the hole. This means that there is a large circle around the hole with a three -legged radius, and any delay blow inside this circle is considered a success.
“This is three meters long, three meters short, three feet left and three meters right,” Fawcett says. “Just get it in that circle. It’s a big circle after you realize you can leave short tights. You have a big difference for error.”
Once you start aiming to hit each blow past The hole, you are reducing what you need to leave your puts. And when you do this, you will need more blows to come to the long -term plane than someone who uses this fictional circle instead.

The next time you face a delay in the course, don’t be fixed for getting that ball into the hole. Instead, focus on leaving the stack inside this fictional circle around the cup. Over time, you will find out that you have cut into your three plates and save strokes on the greens.
