When Brian Harman Won Valero Texas Open last week using a Taylormade Spider 5K-Zt prototype putotypeThe eyebrows climbed around the Golf world.
Was the first victory for Taylormade’s first zero torquewhich still should not hit retail stores and adds more fuel to the hottest craze to professional golf, near mini drivers.
In this week’s fully equipped Golf episode, Johnny Wunder and Wadeh Maroun both discussed their thoughts on zero torque and how they can work for many people, but perhaps not everyone.
“I think they are very, very gorgeous band-AID to have,” Wunder said. “If you are really fighting, it’s a nice reset to get you back to get the way together. If you are getting out of the line, I think of the right player, they are incredible.”
Brian Harman’s Valero’s victory came after switching to the new Putter prototype
Wunder said he once used a seamor center’s putter and shot 67 a day and 79 the next day without being able to “hit the hole from two legs”.
His friend Charles Howell III was using PXG Allan Zero Torque Putter and had trouble understanding why he felt he was hitting good blows but could do nothing.
“Well, because you are a puter’s head emitter, it means dropping it so that when you have something that resists the torque as much as these things do, for a better player, if you have any kindness in your hands or your fingers, unless you will really give the fact that you are barely going, you are barely going to go. Way to fight, you are barely going, you are going to fight, you are barely going.
Because players like Wunder and Howell like to drop the scalp and leave the laps, they have a tendency to lose.
Golf founder Lab Sam Hahn is likely to be aware of these tendencies, and Wadeh Maroun revealed that when he visited the Lab building in Oregon.

Zero torque. Zero compromise. Mezza.1 Max makes it easy for every golf player to benefit from the balance of the lying angle. It looks pretty like a normal putter. But it actually helps you to hit. Mezza.1 Stock Max is a new large curse putter that is fully CNC processed by a billet of 6061 aircraft aluminum (body) and 303 stainless steel (midsection) to create wild stability. It includes 10 weights (eight at the bottom, two on the sides) that allow us to individually build each confusion in the exact specifications of a golf.

“One of the things he said was, if you accelerate through the ball, it is very difficult to use his technology,” Maroun said. “That’s why he always gives you those training to get to that move of allowing gravity take her handle and do what she has to do. Personally to me, I think – and I’ve said this before and agree with you. I’ve said it before at the show. It will be for some people, it won’t be for everyone.”
Maroun suggests that the players who drop the coercion head try a zero torque in a Brooconfiguration of mstick or counter-equilibrium as it is a completely different blow.
But after all, if you are already a strong holder, you may not win too much by going to a zero torque pattern.
“I’ve seen people. I’ve seen bad decisions be made in good places with the lab,” Wunder said. “I’ve never seen a good holder be a phenomenal with a lab, right?”
