It did not arrive after double bogey in 1. Or Bogey Double to 13.
Nor did you come after Bogeys at 11 and 14. or Bogey to 18.
Not, Rory Mcilroy said Wednesday before this week Trumpet“The worst” he felt over the last round of last month Master Came to an unexpected place, at least perhaps for the random observer.
After his birds in the 10th hole.
She placed Mcilroy in four strokes with eight holes to go.
“I’m like, oh, I really can’t confuse that now,” he said.
“There’s that pressure.”
What a game. In particular, the aforementioned Bogey above mentioned in 13 and Bogeys at 11, 14 and 18 played their role in placing Mcilroy in a Play off of sudden death, though it excelled there. His bird, to Justin Rose’s Par, gave him his first victory of the masters, his first great title in 11 years and the Grand Slam career – and the opportunity to see again from the point of view of a champion.
Proven like him, Mcilroy said, the moment in question was in his head.
“You know you are not trying to win another tournament, you are trying to be part of history, and that has a certain weight for him,” he said. “I probably felt it in Augusta over the years.”
What helped him this time?
“I’ve always had hope,” Mcilroy said. “It’s not like me – I wouldn’t appear in Augusta and feel like I couldn’t win. The week I feel like that, I would go there for the champions dinner and swim around in my green jacket, but I wouldn’t play. I always had hope. I always felt like I had the game.
“And just as I think, as everyone saw it on that nine Sunday, it was to overcome – I don’t know what is the right phrase, but defeating my mind was a great thing for me and overcome that obstacle.
“Look, I’m just pleased to be done. I don’t want to have to go back to that Sunday afternoon again. I am glad I finished the way I did, and we can all go on with our lives.”
Should you ask two of his good, dramatics on Sunday at least made for good theater, though.
Justin Thomaswho tied up for his 36th, said he did not flood for the end. But he watched from his home.
A few days later, Thomas also joked with mcilroy.
“I was like, you know, as a golf fan in me, I wanted a good tour,” Thomas said. “I wasn’t necessarily – I didn’t want anything – I don’t want to say bad about happening to anyone, but I wanted to see someone win from four or five as a golf fan, not specifically who was.
“Then for a second I was like, okay, dad is a tour now. You’re fine. You can go ahead and enjoy seeing it like the rest of us.
“No, I went up on TV and I was too excited to see.”
Xander schauuffleMeanwhile, he said it took some time to find a TV, though not choosing.
“I was in the parking lot and I was doing a classic kind – you know, some friends and some families there,” he said. “Everyone wants to take a picture. I was like, we have to go back home and look at the end of this because I don’t know what’s going on. I was definitely a fan at that moment.”
“As far as the drama factor is concerned, it’s been a while since there was some kind of drama, I feel like,” he continued. “All I talk to is to say the same thing. Likes as an indispensable observation, what will happen, you know what I mean?
“It was unfortunate, of course, there should have been a loser there, but it was a delightful thing, delightful for golf.”
