Oleksandr Ulsyk reached the pinnacle of his career when he beat Daniel Dubois on Saturday night at the 5th round at Wembley Stadium in England. Now that he is undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, it is natural that Ulsyk wants to take time to rest, spend time with his family and think about what he wants to do next.
After reflecting on his achievements in Boks-World Cruiserweight Champion, World Heavyweight Champion and an unbeaten record in twenty-four battles, which extends over an almost twelve-year career, it will hopefully conclude that he has reached and retires as a professional boxer.
There are still fights there for him at heavyweight. Joseph Parker was named the compulsory challenger for USyk’s WBO title. In addition, there are rumors that trilogy fights can be arranged between Utsyk, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. A second battle with Dereck Chisora was even set up, which USyk itself said his most difficult opponent at this weight.
There are the trilogy fights first, and there would be an argument to say that the third fighting with Fury and Joshua was justifiable if utility ranked at least one of his title fights against them. However, this is not the case. USYK is 2-0 against both of these fighters. Furthermore, there is no intense rivalry between him and Fury and Joshua in the same way between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, when they fought against each other for the third time. Their trilogy struggle was also justified, as Ali and Frazier both won one battle against each other before their meeting for the World Heavy Wear Championships in the Philippines on 01 October 1975.
Regarding the prospect of utilizing its world titles against Joseph Parker, there would probably not be the question under Fight Fans for such a match. For example, this competition is unlikely to be considered worthy enough for the broadcast of pay-pervention. In terms of a second fight between Ulsyk and Dereck Chisora, there would be no appetite for people to see USyk fighting against an opponent who is regularly considered a travel man in heavyweight circles.
Olexandr utility should therefore seriously consider whether it is worth keeping fighting. Even if he wins one of these proposed fights, it would be pale compared to his reach of Undisputed on July 19. In addition, USyk is now 38 years old. He can still succeed in boxing at this age. George Foreman returned to heavyweight box after a period to beat Michael Moorer and became the WBA and IBF World Heavyweight Champion at 45. The question is whether umility is still hungry to fight. He can only answer this question.
Sports are full of talented athletes, including boxers, who continued to compete past their best.
Surely it is better to go to a highlight with an impeccable legacy. If Oleksandr Utily now retires, he will be unbeaten as the world champion for heavyweight box. Only Rocky Marciano won this award. In addition, Oleksandr utility will be remembered as one of the greats in the world in heavyweight box. He hit the best, and nothing can and will ever change that.
