Katie Freeman has been beating the Olympic title for 25 years on home land, an incredible path and field entertainment evening.
A thousand lanterns captured the moment. When Katie Freeman began a trip to my 2000 Olympic Games, they enlightened the athletics stadium in Sydney as if it were the bright summer day on Bond bond. That was the moment he passed a legend.
This week (September 25) marks the 25th anniversary of the victory of Freeman. It wasn’t just his life race. The Australian people called it “the race of our lives”, and it fell into the footsteps and field folklore as “magic on Monday”.
Sydney was the first of the five Olympics I covered for TimeA number “What terrible first games”, Mel Watman, one of my previous ones TimeThen told me from the cheek to me. “Because nothing else would no longer give it.”
London 2012 and “Super Saturday” approached. But even many British agree that Magic was even more impressive in Sydney.
Exclusive. Katie Freeman’s interview
This is partly due to the size of the stadium. At least 110,000 people followed Freeman’s speed to win 400 m gold, more than 30,000 than London 2012, making it the largest crowd for the Olympic path and field.
There was a deaf voice in 400.11 seconds in the 400 m year of Freeman. Before the cameras, it was an epoch before the camera or social media also became so that many spectators were photographed by standard cameras so that they could capture the iceluosity of eternity.

To say that it was very expected, also underestimates. Freeman was mostly trained in England to avoid the interests of his media and fans at home in Australia. He is not only a great host nation, who was loved in Olympic sports No. 1, was 27 years old after he won his / her tether in 1997 and 1999.
His competition was then with Marie-Jose Perez, the French woman beating him in 1996 in Atlanta. It was a key game of the head, but Perez escaped sharply a few days before the games, when he was due to the Australian media.
If the peracus fought and eventually broke under pressure, before shooting weapons was released, the focus and waiting for free Friaman was unbelievable. The decision to raise the honor of illuminating the voyage at the Olympic opening ceremony is to make higher deeds in the future. Nike also decided to wear him what was called a “quick suit” which, as sincere, would be beautiful spies.
In a large scheme of things I was in the basket and just one of the 110,000 crowd plus faces. However, I felt that night under a small pressure because the Evening Program was bitten Aw The Magazine Deadline of the Week.
This meant that I and those games were several partners. Chris swords, which now works for worldthish, plus Lucy Gibson, forced to follow our small but smooth-free editing team of Great Britain. For example, several finals, for example, I wrote as much as I could be based on warming, semi-finals, plus prehistoric and history before I ascended to England.

Many of our readers also included certain freedom, as he told me about two months before the Olympic Games in London, he told me that he was a regular reader.Time“When he called it, during his career, he was especially familiar with the magazine from located in London.
That night is not about Freeman.

The evening started with Stacy Dragila, winning the title of the first Olympic women’s polar folders, Russian-Australian Russian-Australian Tatiana Grigorev. Three jumps, World Recordachi Jonathan Edwards took his first Olympic title at his fourth games. An obstacles to 110 m, meanwhile, saw Kuba Ani Garcia defeated Britain Colin Jackson.
Maria Mnollolan has taken gold with Britain’s Kelly Holmes, which is impressive from Clinch’s injury to the British bronze. In 5,000 m, Gabbyi Sovabo left Ireland’s Sonia O’Sulivan and the Wami of Ethiopia in the title. Lithuanian Virgilius Allnaa beats 69.30 m in Discus.
The most interesting race of the night, however, was 10,000 men, where Hillos Gebresia was able to tear Paul Terbat, less than a second less often victory.

He is also thinking for Michael Johnson, as he became the first person to win 400 ms in a row in a row, although his event was slightly delayed, as he took a distance of women 400 meters.
Freeman’s 400m occurred at 8.10 local time. Being a British, it was natural to see the joy of Katarine and Donna Fraser prepares the podium, and they eventually the third and fourth, but your eyes are not.
In some ways, it was like her many victories, as she stretched from her competitors to the final 150 meters. But this was not an ordinary occasion and at the end of his knees, overcomed with relief and emotions, before the climbing, Australian and Aboriginal flags.
It was then that Freeman absorbed comfort, a woman who worked as a “Running Runs” media, turned around her eyes and said: “Didn’t you see that?”
It was, of course.
