This time a year ago, everyone was looking for Nelly Korda. She had won four shifts in a row and was about to win the fifth – this a great championship in Chevron. She was also ready to attend Met Gala And ready to pose for illustrated sports swimsuits and ready to spend a grueling wine of even more elevations and a handful of uplifting.
It was about this time last year that Korda began to tell the world that she does not want to faint all way the media circus that began to create around her. That she needs a break from all time from time to time, and she often searches for her in her family, sometimes traveling to the Rocky Mountains or even in the Czecheke Republic.
That was 2024, and here in 2025, the cord is dealing with a little less manic circus. She has not won yet, for beginners. But she is finding new ways to mentally attract herself from her golf on a daily basis. She has started playing with… Legos.
That’s right, the interconnected plastic parts that children use to make figures of all shapes and sizes. Korda publicly harassed the idea for the first time at last week’s LPGA stop in LA.
“I’ve always loved Legos,” Korda said when asked about her new (or old!) Hobby. “Like I actually started earlier this year and it’s just another way to get rid of things.
“I mean, you can go home when you are on the tournament. Read a book or you can go watch your favorite show, but when you’re not really interested in any of those two things, it’s just another way to get your mind from golf.”
The cord is rented at home while on the road and has been colliding at Lego time when it is far from the course. She completed three designs during her week of tournament in Arizona last month, and says she plans to buy sets and leave them at home when she continues. When she returned home to Florida, she has a largest set that is drafting in her free time.
This week, she plans to make her father make Lego with her. And if she is lucky the world will continue to go there and she will not have to buy them all herself. Just last week, a fan sent her to a Lego Maclaren Car device. Party part of a distancing strategy that Cord includes when it leaves the golf course. The less golf conversations, it seems, the better for him. And Legos are not a fully childish enterprise after all.

It is its “form of fun” that has its attention now much more than a book or a television show. Her favorite design so far was an orchid she recently built. But there will certainly be a competition for the title that arrives in the mail long ago.
