Why Honda’s lap times in the private MotoGP test are worrying for Joan Mir and Luca Marini.


Honda will be one of the teams allowed to field their riders in the MotoGP shakedown event at Sepang. The first joint exam of 2025 has been penciled in from January 31 to February 2.

All five MotoGP Manufacturers will remain in the same discount classes for 2025. Honda And their Japanese rivals Yamaha occupy the lowest band (D).

He finished the table in 2024, just one place ahead of the latter. The discount system is designed to make them more competitive thus improving the performance in the premier class.

That means Joan Mir and Luca Marini can test the 2025 bike again at the home of the Malaysian GP. They had a chance to sample it at a postseason test in Barcelona in November.
