Why Ducati boss Luigi Daligna doesn’t like how they look in the MotoGP paddock


Luigi Daleigna and Ducati are MotoGP’s natural rivals ahead of the 2025 season. Many expect the collapse of the swimming team – the way in the sport.

And ‘dominant’ might understate Ducati’s status. MotoGP Delayed. Their bikes have won three straight riders’ titles, four straight team championships and five straight constructors’ crowns.

Last season, they scored a whopping 722 points as a producer. They monopolized the top three spots in the group standings and four out of five.

Likewise, the top four riders were all tied. Ducati. Each scored at least 386 points – fifth-place Brad Binder only managed 217.

The Bologna outfit may be depleted by 2025, with last year’s champion Pramac switching to Yamaha. Title winner Jorge Martin defected to Aprilia after being denied a factory ride for Marc Marquez.

In theory, non-Ducati platforms should be added. But with no major changes until 2027, it’s hard to see them falling decisively for the time being.

Luigi D’Aligna admits some people in the MotoGP paddock think he’s ‘not friendly’.

In an interview with Motorsport EspañaDall’Igna was asked if he was still ‘popular’ with other teams. It is the era of European dominance in the premier class, Yamaha and Honda slipped to the foot of the table.

Dale Igna says he has little interest in ‘crushing’ the competition or breaking records. Instead, the only threat to win.

But he admits his reputation has suffered in the MotoGP paddock since joining Ducati. The 58-year-old came from Aprilia a decade ago.

“For me it’s important to win, not crush,” he said. “When you’re crushed, you become unpopular.

Although sometimes we overdo it a bit and find ourselves in the same situation as we are now, I will work to keep winning. But my goal is not to surpass last year; It’s just about winning.

“There are many in this paddock who see me as unfriendly and let’s just say I feel bad about it.”

As he chases hot silver to solidify his legacy, Daleiga downplayed the comparisons to Adrian Nye.. The ‘big difference’ between the two is that one has comprehensive responsibilities and the other can only focus on design.
