Barcelona remain defiantly “optimistic” about their chances of signing Dani Olmo despite missing the La Liga deadline of December 31, 2024, according to a report in Spain.

He was thought to have the president of the club, Joan Laporta raised around 120 million euros selling the future rights to Camp Nou VIP seats for the next 20 years in a deal with unnamed Qatari investors, thus securing the financial injection needed not only to sign Olmo and Victor, but to achieve the 1:1 rule, which allows a club spend every euro they earn.

Laporta’s seat deal funds were not guaranteed until the end of 2024. Just two days later, reports claimed the money has been “confirmed”. This evolution, added to the belief that Barcelona can justify Olmo’s situation as an “exceptional case”, has supported the club’s confidence.
