Who is in the fourth round?


The third round of the FA Cup often delivers the legendary magic that has become synonymous with England’s oldest cup competition.

Premier League and Championship clubs have now entered the FA Cup to throw their weight around against lower league opposition, many of whom have endured a grueling and long journey to reach the third round.

Every season the third round conjures up exciting and unknown duels, but only 32 teams could secure safe passage to the fourth round.

Cardiff City, Everton and Fulham kicked off the third round of the FA Cup, all winning their matches on Thursday night. Aston Villa ran out winners in a Premier League battle the following night, toppling West Ham United in Graham Potter’s first game in charge of the Irons.

Liverpool, who last won the competition in 2021/22, advanced to the fourth round with their 4-0 win against Accrington Stanley in League Two. Trent Alexander-Arnold starred after a difficult week for the right-back and Federico Chiesa scored his first goal for the club.

Chelsea secured an equally high-profile win over League Two opposition. beating Morecambe 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. Doubles from Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Felix secured an emphatic victory, and the Blues will join Bournemouth, Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest in the fourth round.

The biggest surprise of Saturday’s FA Cup games was Plymouth Argyle’s 1-0 win at Brentford. Morgan Whittaker scored the winner in the final game for the Pilgrims before Miron Muslic took over for the recently sacked Wayne Rooney.
