The golf ball is the most important part of the equipment in your bag. It is the only thing you use in every stroke and our 2025 ball test presented by UNRL once again proved that performance changes between golf balls are often greater than the differences between clubs.
Callaway lining can feel confused at first glance. You have received Chrome tournament, Chrome Tour x, Chrome Tour Triple Diamond, Chrome, Erc soft AND Supersoft. Six different models were tested and each serves a clear purpose of the performance.
Remember as you read through this that it is not about your handicap. True differences come from rotation, flight, and the way the ball is brought from Tee to Green.
Here’s what the 2025 mygolfspy ball test data for Callaway say.
High-speed test (115 MPH/90 MPH 7-HEKURI)
At faster speed, the Chrome Callaway tour line is divided by trajectory and rotation.
Chrome Tour’s triple diamond dominated the total distance while the Chrome Tour offered speed and higher control. Standard Chrome tour provided a slightly higher flight and supersoft showed how much distance it can be lost with softer cores.
- Chrome Tour Triple Diamond → Generally faster (ball speed 168 MPH), approximately 15 yards longer than supersoft off the driver. The most enjoyable trajectory and low rotation make it one of the longest tested balls.
- Chrome Tour x → High speed with higher rotation; Excellent option for players who want to stop power without giving up many distances.
- Chrome tournament → Slightly higher profile of balanced distance flight and rotation.
- Chrome → Callaway longest for high -speed shaking players, about 13 yards longer than threefold diamond.
- Erc soft → Secondary-rotating interpreter; Solid, long, but not among the first of the driver’s distance.
- Supersoft → Significantly slower to 163 MPH and the shortest distance more in general, the supersoft trades speed to feel and forgiveness.

Medium-speed test (100 mph/80 mph 7-i-hea driver)
With the speed of the middle swinging, Chrome Tour X claimed the top spot of all the tested Golf balls tested. The supersoft gave up the important yard compared to the strongest models.
- Chrome Tour x → Callaway the longest in the middle of the speed; High -flight driver’s strong distance.
- Chrome tournament → Keep good height and durability through the bag.
- Chrome Tour Triple Diamond → Still long enough, but bent more pleasant during the flight.
- Chrome → Shorter of Callaway golf balls in this group for cuffs (about 10 shorter yard than supersoft).
- Erc soft → Rigid mixture of feeling and soft distance; performed well with medium -speed cuffs.
- Supersoft → Longer with handcuffs in this group even though the rotation remains low, so there is not much prohibition power.

Low-speed test (85 mph/65 mph 7-hikuri)
For the slower swing speed, Chrome Tour Triple Diamond led to the driver’s distance with supersoft nearby. Chrome Tour X was shorter than Callaway golf balls for low swinging speed.
- Chrome Tour Triple Diamond → The longest driver at slow speed; Still more pleasant during flight.
- Chrome Tour x → Generally shorter; Most suitable for faster swingers.
- Chrome tournament → Balanced performance throughout the categories.
- Chrome → High flight at slower speed, good for players who need to keep height.
- Erc soft → Long with handcuffs and high flights, one of the most consistent performers for slower swingers.
- Supersoft → Near the top for the total distance, confirming why it remains preferred among casual players.

Performance
Choose a golf ball that complements your game. Start in Green and find a ball that gives you the necessary performance from the TeE and then work your way back in the Tee box. Here are some choices to consider.
Maximum distance (outside tee) Chrome Tour Triple Diamond
Among the longest balls in high -speed and low -speed testing. Strong, fast and delightful during flight, it produced approximately 15 yards more total distance than high -speed supersoft.
Low rotation (tee-to-green) Erc soft
One of the lower rotation Callaway models. Built for narrower shots and reduced sidesp without sacrificing much sensation. The lower swing speeds will also see a lot of height from the ERC soft, ideal for players who want to keep the ball in the game and earn the iron distance.
Spin High Greenside Chrome Tour x
Callaway ball with higher rotation around the green. If stopping power and control is your main advantages, this is the ball. Also one of the fastest in the lineup, keeping strong distance while offering short game accuracy.
High Flight/Stop Power Chrome
A softer urethane option with the highest angles of starting and the origin between the Callaway tour balls. Perfect for players who need extra holding and want confidence to keep strong greens.
