When Netflix Jake Paul, the new king of boxing, crown

The Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis exhibition Clash on November 14 at Netflix has a real possibility of surpassing the 41 million global viewing numbers that drew the expensive Canelo Alvarez against Terence Crawford event last September at that platform.

The measure of 41 million

Imagine what it would look like if Jake’s battle with Gerrvonta brings in a lot more viewers than the 41 million global viewers on Netflix who clash Alvarez’s collision against Crawford Drew. It would be striking and embarrassing at the same time.

Turki’s big misfire

The message would suggest that Jake Paul should have been used as the opponent of Canelo Alvarez, not Crawford. The numbers would probably have been much larger. In addition, the Star of Canelo will still shine bright afterwards because of the likelihood of winning.

Turki would advance, because the opportunity would not have been on Netflix only, but the last two fights that Canelo has on his contract with the Riyadh season would probably attract more interest than they do now, as he lost to an older Crawford.

Did Turki make a mistake not to use Jake as Canelo’s opponent? It’s hard not to see it that way when you look at it from a realistic view. Paul’s fan base is significantly greater than the relatively smaller of Crawford.

If Turki Crawford wanted to do a solid, he could set up a battle between him and David Banavidez, Dmitry Bivol or Jaron Ennis. He still got a big payday to fight against them, although his chances of winning would be slim. Even if Crawford was blown out of the water, at least he showed that he dared to fight as an underdog for once.

Terence’s whole thing is that he wants to be seen at the same table as the big ones on Mount Rushmore of boxing, but he did not achieve it by beating a rinsed Canelo. Crawford had to beat benavidez, biblical or Ennis to do so.

Netflix’s new kingmaker

Youtuber-driven boxer Jake Paul is not seen in the same light as Crawford and Canelo in terms of his boxing ability and achievements in the sport. But if his viewing numbers for his exhibition Match those of the September 13 meeting at Netflix crush, it will send a message about who is the true Global Star or Boxing. It’s not Canelo, and certainly not Crawford. Paul would be the king of the sport.

The promotional budget for the Paul-Davis battle is likely to be a fraction of the Gazillions who advertised Turki Alalshikh on September 13 at the Canelo-Crawford event. The two received enormous wallets for what Turki called ‘The Fight of the Century’.

Jake Paul against Gervonta Davis fights on November 14, 2025 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Compared to the money that the Canelo-Crawford event has suspended, the Paul-Davis event is not expected to throw the kind of budget into it.

With Jake’s ability to market his fights through sound bites and his massive social media, he doesn’t need the same promotional print to get fans interested in setting on Netflix to look at.
