A few days on the course, you just don’t have it. No matter what you try with your swing, the ball just doesn’t go where you want. It is a disappointing feeling, but what is inevitable if you play the game long enough.
When days like these happen, it is important to have some shaky bases to get back. You may not be hitting the ball with your best, but you still need to understand a way to get around the course without much damage to the results card. One such technique you can use is to grip in the syllable.
For more about that we turn to Top 100 Golf teacher Debbie Doniger (you can also watch the video below).
When to drown down
When your swing starts to feel a little away, it makes no sense to swing from your shoes to the ball. The chances are, when you do it, you will not find the center of the club. Instead, get a slightly extra club, drown a few inches in the syllable and swing easily.
“You know when you raise you just feel a blurred kind with your gap wedge and your annoying wedge?” Doniger says. “Get that drowning rhythm in (your longest club) and you will hit it stronger.”
When you drown down and slow your tempo only one touch, you will be more likely to find the center of the face and actually hit the ball when you are aiming for.
Next time drowning in the club is useful is when you are trying to do Hit a knockdown kick. In this situation, you are again taking a little more club than normal, but instead of a slower pace for your swing, you are making a three -quarter spine.
To hit this stroke correctly, Doniger recommends using the 2-2-2 system, which she learned from the legendary instructor Mike Adams.
“Put the ball and you will kill two inches,” Doniger says. “You will open your stand by two degrees and move the ball back (in your stay) with two inches.”
By making all these configuration accommodations, you will be able to hit the ball straight and on your target target. All you have to do from here is to make a pace three -quarters and have seen your follow -up through a touch.
“It will help you hit more solid iron shots,” Doniger says.
So the next time you try to hit solid shots on the course, consider drowning down the club. If you do this, you can simply be able to save a strong result in the days when you are not shaking your best.
