Since the beginning of the big season with the first two five, it is now at the pace of losing cuttings on both summer majors. I didn’t necessarily expect Bryson to win this week, but I was expecting more than that.

We have not seen 52-year-old Westwood in a major since the 2022 Open Championship. For one reason or another, the co-captain of Majesticks has not even attempted to qualify for the last two openings. But this year, he was the medallist in the qualification of Dundonald Links and now finds himself within the top 10 after round 1. Will it last? It would make an excellent addition to the “The Old Guy’s Still Got” section of the big 2025 season.
