Day 4 at US Open promises to be a blocker as the second round action begins with some of the biggest names in tennis taking the court. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz look to continue their progress, while American fans will cheer Jessica Pegula in the 2024 race. The main women’s seeds and sample protection Aryna Sabalenka and Champioion 2021 Emma Raducanu also face difficult tests.
Next Test of Gjokovic
The four -time champion of US Open Novak Djokovic, 38, survived a round victory over the Tien student, but admitted that he fought with fitness and recovery during long exchange. “I don’t have any damage or nothing. I just struggled a lot to stay in long exchanges and recover after points,” Djokovic said.
After two days of vacation, Gjokovic will face American qualification Zachary Svajda on Wednesday. The Serb, who had not played since Wimbledon, is seeking to find his rhythm and start building the moment in New York.
American men in action
Day 4 in Flushing Meadows will have some big American vibes. 2024 Finalist Taylor Fritz and Seed No. 6 Ben Shelton will be in court, with Fritz confronts a challenging opponent while Shelton receives Pablo Carreno Busta.
The twice semi -finalist US Open Frances Tifoe will meet the qualifier Martin Damm, and Marcos Giron goes against the man who overthrew Daniil Medvedev, Benjamin Bonzi of France. In general, eight of the 11 remaining American men in the draw will be in action on day 4.
A great day for teens
Day 4 at US Open will also notice the next generation, with some teenage players in action. Joao Fonseca, Mirra Andreeva, Iva Jovic and Jakub Menisic will all get to court, giving fans a brief appearance of growing sports and many exciting young talent to look at Flushing Meadows.
Philippine’s sense Alexandra Eala and Janice of Indonesia will also return to action, each looking to make history for their countries. Eala, the first player from the Philippines to ever won a Grand Slam match facing Cristina Bucsa, Spain, while the Indonesian star gets in the 2021 champion Emma Raducanu.
