When you just need to hit the ball a few meters around the greens, what is the best club to use?

Question: Dear chef, I’m good at long chips but not short ones. What is the best way to chop it, say, five yards? ” – Sam T., Houston
I hear this amount from my amateur students. The best way I have found to hit that five-yr-nipor chip is to use a slightly less mild club (a GW, PW or 9-iron instead of a SW or LW), stay closer to the ball, raise the glove up, get a set control and make more a stroke. This helps you to “calm down” your feet and hold your hands passive, even the combination that leads to less strength and a shorter blow.
