question: How do Adidas and Adidas Golf fit with the Gareth Bale brand?
Bale:I’ve been with them my whole career. I’ve always worn Adidas growing up. It was a boot that I loved, the brand I loved, my dad loved him, so, yes, it was a little dream to come true to work with them from the beginning and to be with them today. We had a great relationship throughout my football career and now with golf and it has been really fun to be part of it.
Question: Very rare for an athlete to represent a company like Adidas in two completely different sports.
Bale: Yes, it was very interesting and I assume a little different when it comes to sports. Of course, I wanted to love golf so much that it was good for me to learn things from brand how they look in favor of their tour, how smart they dress, the choices on the equipment they make. Nice nice to go out on the course looking and feeling like a professional even though I am not and I know it. However, it is best to look the part and feel good about how you look there.
Question: Specific for the ground forces, are there some parallels that you can draw between the football and golf shoes?
Bale: Undoubtedly when I was playing football, the most important thing for me was the stability of my luggage. So when I was pushing right or left, I had to know that my Chism can resist the amount of force I was putting through it and I was not losing no power. The comfort of anyone who plays Golf is massively important. You spend a long time on the shoes on the course while, during my football career, I was not so worried about comfort. However, playing golf, you should also have comfort and performance. In football, I would prioritize the performance, especially by being able to remove the boots for 15 minutes a half time, you give yourself some breath space. You don’t have it in golf.
Question: There is also side support to consider golf. Was the same for football?
Bale: That was any support I needed. I was a lot of a player of power in football and that strength through the land we talked about? If I was changing the direction, it was critical to have that stability and confidence in the luggage it would carry on its own. For golf, you need to balance and mix it with power. With side support, especially, you want to feel as if your foot is closed inside.

Bale: (laughing) That’s true! Yes, to be honest, I would tell them to try and find the shoe that best suits your game. Shoes are accessories. You need to treat them the same way you would do if you were to equip club. Absolutely, you want them to look good and I get it, but you need to have shoes with the functional ability to fit your game. A person can have an ankle so that the individual needs something a little more comfortable, a little more forgiving. If you are more of an elite player and swinging faster, you may need something that has that control and support, you have to go after a blow, so, yes, it depends on what you are looking for and what are your needs. Some people simply wear shoes for fashion. Like Golf Shoes Adidas Sambas and Stan Smith are more fashionable living shoes than something like Codechaos or Tour360 that are simply made for golf.
Question: Now that you have taken on the role of a golf ambassador for Adidas Golf, what you are hoping to achieve. How do you see you going forward?
Bale: I didn’t think much about the future, to be honest. At the moment, I am in the scene where I am happy to represent them and do what I can. I am loved by improving and I want a handicap as low as I can and part of this is playing on local club tours, where you put a little pressure on yourself. It is also great to have Adidas along with my club again on Wales. We play Golf Team and everyone is wearing Adidas boxes which is really beautiful. Being able to do such things and see the whole team wearing Adidas dress and wearing shoes is great. I am also happy to give boys reactions to shoes and clothes. I think I can help with that.
Question: If you had any advice about Adidas Golf’s shoes, you would go through someone who never tried the brand before, what would you say to them?
Bale: I really came to like Adidas shoes without spik. You are walking in more comfort, but now the models without spik give you as much control as the points. The new Codechaos and Adizero Zg have so much control and yet they are still really stable. They are still reliable, but they have the appearance of a coach, so, yes, this is what I would say. Quite impressive things.
