We are officially at the point of half of the masters of 2025. Justin Rose leads to eight under the while while Bryson dechambeau, Rory Mcilroy, Corey Conners and a host of others are hot in pursuit. With 36 holes down, and the other 36 to go, what has been the biggest surprise so far in Augusta National?
Jessica Marxbury, high editor (@Jess_Marksbury) :: ROREST RORY to me! What performance today. After late Hiccups, I realized that he would need a rose round today to get back to the mix, but did I expect him to pull it off? I admit I didn’t do it – and I’m very pleasantly surprised! Having it in the mix is the weekend juice of play needs.

At its second big start – and the first layout of the masters – he posted rounds 71 and 68 to find himself T5 at the point of half. I’m not sure I could choose the boy from a formation (and I don’t think I’m alone) but he’s taking it out with the big boys on the weekend in Augusta. Impressive things from him so far.

But this is the shocking number for which Nick Dunlap signed on Thursday. The second biggest surprise? Dunlap returning again on Friday with one under 71. What solve. Good for him!
Josh Berhow, managing editor (@Josh_berHow) :: The large number of stars that can earn this. Usually, there are some big names on top now, but this steering chart is packed. Bryson, Rory, Scottie, Hovland, Collin. Saturday will be a fun tone to see where everyone ends.
