The opening of American women is close to her point halfway on Erin Hills in Bucolic Erin, Wis. – But the main word is ‘near’. As the game was approaching at the end of the second round on Friday afternoon, the storm horn fell and the game stopped for about an hour, delaying the end of the second round to Saturday. But we still had golf. Mao saigoChevron’s winner shone. Nelly cord grew up. There was also a right part of surprises.
So we have called Zephyr Melton and Nick Pastowski staff to digest them all. Both are in place. Both have eaten cheese cottage cheese this week.
Nick pastowski (@nickpia) :: Hello, Zephyr! Hope you are dry! Let’s get into it immediately. What do you do from the top of the manager?
Zephyr melton (@Zephyrmelton) :: There is a star power! Nelly is definitely the biggest name, but Saigo is not himself extinguishing, having won Chevron last month. And with other great winners like A lim kim AND Hinako shimano Even there, he got an exciting weekend ahead.
Pastowski: Very ideal ideal board, I would say. We took Saigo (which we will talk about in my next question.) We got a lim Kim, who previously won this tour. We got Hinako Shibuno, a great champion. And Nelly (which we will talk about below.) And a good number of players are in the distance. USGA and NBC must be happy. Okay, can saigo … go 2 for 2 in diplomas?
Melton: So far it looks like it is up to office! She played almost perfect golf on Friday with her only Bogey coming after an unlucky bounce from the flag. If she can continue to play the way it is, we can be in the Grand Slam Watch to come on Sunday evening.
Pastowski: These things tend to the snow ball, or not. Why not? It has been great in the greens – the saigo is the second in the strokes obtained: the placement, and first in the place its hole. Let’s talk cords. What is the difference with it this week?
Melton: The word she used to describe her game after the second round was “patient”. After a disappointing round of opening, where she could not get anything to drop, it would have been easy to start crushing, but she stuck in her game plan on Friday and finally got a few blows to fall. The recipe seemed to work, as she had the best opportunity she had ever had to win an open American women.
Pastowski: A wonderful day for her – she lost a couple of cuts, but also drained over 100 meters of putts. After her short media session after the first round, she went directly to the green practice, so something should have clicked? We will see it on Saturday. What is your impression on Erin Hills this week? Has he done the job?
Melton: There is no doubt a feeling of great sample for him in size and scale, but the lack of wind has made it much more outstanding than I expected. I will be thirsty to see how much you call USGA over the weekend with relatively low results over two days.
Pastowski: Definitely is definitely a big ball, and yes, I agree, with the winds down, we have not seen the full fire of Erin Hills. Still, if the golf your ball well, we will be rewarded, and if you do not, you will not do, which is all you can look for. The best players have been identified. Ok, which player is it hanging and we’ll talk more at this time tomorrow?
Melton: I’ll go with an aussies couple in Minjee lee AND Hannah Green. Each sits in two through 36 holes and each has won large titles before. Don’t be surprised if one (or both) of them makes a run tomorrow.
Pastowski: I’m going with Gemma Dryburgh. I have followed it all week for another story, and it is in good and safe shape. She has managed her game well. The biggest surprise – in a good way?
Melton: Sarah Schmelzel Being just a few shots from the superiority should be the biggest surprise. Before 2024, she would never register a top 10 in a major, but over the past year, she scored two of them. She seems to have finally understood how to manage the main sampling test-and she is doing so beautifully so far in Erin Hills.
Pastowski: Leta Lindley was harshly hanging. The Old Champion of the Old Women of the SH.BA shot the rounds of 76 and 78. A top of the lid there. Ok, the biggest surprise – in a bad way?
Melton: Lilia vu Missing from a mile. She exploded two years ago as she grabbed some key titles in one year, and last season, she was twice in the diplomas. She has been a hunter with a big game, but this week, she just didn’t have it.
Pastowski: To me, I will go with Brooke Henderson Cutting is missing. I thought Erin Hills would have been a strong course suitable for the bomber. Who leads after 54?
Melton: Nelly. She’s hit the ball better than for all this week, and on Friday, she found something in the greens. It is getting hot in due course.
Pastowski: Nelly, hey? I’m standing with my choice from yesterday, a lim kim. She’s hitting there. The last question: Our colleague, Sean Zak, brought us the fried cheese of Erin Hills today. What did you think?
Melton: Absolute fire.
Pastowski: Zak had been guaranteeing these things throughout the week, and man, it hurts me legally to say this, but … (whispers) he was right. Really good.
