In the fourth part of our Tournament Adaptation series, I fade Cody Hale of Odyssey To take us through his appropriate strategy and what matters most for the best players in the world when it comes to what, in my opinion, is the part of the equipment for which players create the strongest emotional connection (the ball is a close second).
Putters are a difficult club to adapt because sometimes numbers don’t matter. Expert adapters will tell the most desired players from a sustainable (1) steady purpose, (2) efficient contact, and (3) if they can trust what they feel and see.
The best adapters I see in tours (like cody) are usually the best listeners; They are almost like therapists. Trying to achieve good statistical results and to convince players that exists only A The answer is not the answer. Cody is great to do the following two things: (1) Returning players back to an initial base that works, and (2) ensuring that the players are comfortable at all costs.
The work in the brain is for coaches; Cody’s work is matching Putter to improve that job. It’s not as easy as it sounds because you have some masters to serve. The eyes of your player, the conditions of setting the surfaces and the feeling of the player and eventually the overall performance.
The best players in the world everyone has sensitive feelings, and it is Cody’s task to ensure that a player feels and work in harmony. In simple words, the putter should fit the player, and not the other way around.
So when looking for a putter, it is important to prioritize some keys. For me, is:
1. Can I aim at?
2. Do you hit from the middle?
3. Does the ball roll over my line most of the time?
4 Am I happy with Putter?
Odyssey gains more counts in the tour than any other brand, and Cody is a large part of this. Hope to enjoy his sights.
Odyssey Tour Adaptation Strategy
By Cody Hale, Rep Odyssey PGA Tour
Putter devices at any level are highly individualized and unlock a wide range of options. In the tournament, our goal is to choose a player’s configuration to meet their Stoke dynamics and hope to help produce a more repetitive and transferable result in tournament.
In the tournament events, our mounting process begins by setting an initial measurement using the quinic ball rotation. Inside our tour truck, we are lucky to have a green setting equipped with a quintet that allow us to analyze the main parameters on how the ball and golf ball are performing. We can identify areas for improvement if it is the accuracy of the goal refining and starting the line, starting the conditions or choosing a different model and the equilibrium profile the most suitable for the player’s Stoke mechanics. The face angle in Impact is one of the most revised parameters as it is a critical determinant for the start line. We look at some factors when improving the starting line and can be as simple as a slight adjustment of the goal (not all good cassettes aim for it perfectly) or testing different hosel configurations and the center of mass countries that can affect a player and striking patterns.

Get, for example, Chris kirkwhich tends to have a small left -handed purpose that produces a propulsion bias but still manages to square the face in very well influence. During our testing with Chris, we have identified that it aims best with rounded models of curses that have minimal for any aid to extension or that perpendicular stretch (ie, vice versa). These features tend to help reduce his left -wing prejudice to a more manageable range.
Recently, Chris recently worked with his coach in some configuration adjustments, and along with what we spent on a Jailbird S2S without any sight. Changing the layers improved its purpose accuracy and lowered the delta between its purpose and the start line to less than 0.5 degrees. Not all tournament players aim for a tightening perfectly, so it is important to determine the optimal gamat for each player and match a putter design that supports those trends.

Odyssey AI-One Square to Square Jailbird Custom Plor
The new Odyssey line of AI-One Square 2 Square Putters represents a modern design in the center that makes them balance in the stroke, so they want to stay square throughout the hiking of a golf. These settings are ideally suited for the golfer that seeks to minimize the rotation of their face when placed. Ai-One Insert designed using artificial intelligence, we have created contours in the aluminum supporter of the insert which we co-cross on a white urethan white surface to promote the durable ball speed across the face with hot classic that feel that the tournament players and amateurs. The design of the modern grafted center, this design concentrates the axis in the CG plane of the putter. This results in nails that rest with the toe up in an opposite torque position, opposite a traditional toe paw. This design promotes a square face throughout the blow. Built in prior to 3.3 ° the shaft forward predicts the hands in a press position forward by eliminating the opening of the face that often occurs when the golf in front of the press itself. The unique finish of the Navy Blue PVD contains a beautiful blue Navy PVD finish that really highlights and gives a premium look and of course Jailbird patterns come with our classic verse extension.

Each player has a unique set of variables in setting and hitting it, and this is the beauty and challenge of mixing a shape, configuring the sock and balance profile to better fit a player’s hit mechanics. The “feeling” of a tournament is primary, and their reactions plays a major role in shaping our recommendations. When we can strengthen the gap between what the player perceives and the results, their concentration can be shifted from mechanics to refining lasting feelings, rhythm and speed.
An apparent example includes a top current player in the ball in SG: Setting who made a strong change toward the end of last season. We measured his hit several times last season and, despite the good purpose within 0.5 ° from 8-10 meters, his path to the brain was extremely external, seeking significant compensation to match the face. The putter’s design he was using presented a deeper center of mass with a steep neck design that fits with dignity of those trends at the time.
About Midway during the season, along with his coach, we decided to test another option that could create a more neutral environment for the path and face to work together. The recommendation was to stay in a form of goods for extension purposes, but move the center of mass forward with a shaft shaft more through the center, which created less hanging toe. Crossing to a double twist #7 (balanced face) immediately gave a path constantly below 2 ° left and more of course increased facial consciousness. After a few weeks of testing, Putter came into play, and he has appeared statistically one of the best putters over the past 7 months, including a PGA Tour wins last fall.
Playero player is unique, but our goal remains the same: adjust their equipment well in a way that creates confidence, durability and performance when it matters more.
