Wednesday, November 27, Cricket West India (CWI) announced the West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team squad for the white ball. series against India Women’s national cricket team.
The West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team will visit India for a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series. The T20Is will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on December 15, 17 and 19, while the ODIs will be played at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara on December 22, 24 and 27.

Stafani Taylor ruled out of Indian series, Deandra Dottin returns
The West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team is currently ranked 6th in the ICC T20I and ODI Rankings and the series against India is expected to be a tough one for them.
They will play the matches against India without star all-rounder Stefani Taylor, who has been ruled out due to injury. Notably, he is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program and will not be fit in time for the India series.
Meanwhile, Deandra Dottin will return to ODI cricket in the series against India. He recently returned to international cricket after his retirement in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Meanwhile, the Maroon Warriors squad also saw the return of pacer Shabika Gajnabi and wicketkeeper Rashada Williams. Notably, the duo was not part of the side’s T20 World Cup squad.

In an official media release, West Indies Women’s Head Coach Shane Deitz said that they are looking to do well in international cricket after their recent success in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Shane said:
“We want to carry the good momentum we gained in the T20 World Cup into this series. We have shown that we can compete with the tops teams it was gratifying.”
Shane went on to say that the team has made a lot of progress in all areas, but there is still room for improvement.
“Since I took office, I have seen progress in all areas, but we still have a long way to go. Consistency of high performance is what we need to continue to work on and this is a good opportunity to play six games against one of the best teams in the world,” he said.
“We want to get more girls involved in franchise cricket and moving towards India, it’s always good to play in front of Indian IPL teams. It is a good thing for our ladies to start making a name for themselves in front of those people, I hope they have opened up certain opportunities in the future.”
