It’s very clear that West Ham need a striker this January and Graham Potter has targeted Andre Silva from RB Leipzig, but if that deal falls through the Hammers have an interesting alternative.
Silva’s three goals in eight appearances in 2024/25 (transfer market) is a reasonable enough return and German football expert Florian Plettenberg has noticed X That the irons are pressing hard for the player.
The reporter has suggested the east Londoners want the 29-year-old on a six-month loan, although other Bundesliga clubs are understood to be interested in the player.

West Ham have apparently agreed a deal for a Dutch midfielderand it is in the Netherlands where they could look for their alternative Andre Silva.
Plettenberg has also hinted that Ajax’s Brian Brobbey will be on the lookout if the Silva deal falls through for whatever reason.

The 22-year-old Dutchman has an impressive four goal and assist contributions in just six Eredivisie games this season (transfer market), although it is not clear whether it would be on loan or permanently.

It is also unclear who is driving the transfer business at the East London club at present West Ham manager Tim Steidten was sidelined.
In any case, Graham Potter cannot allow domestic politics to get in the way of his ability to boost his first-team squad.
