“Leave? No, I don’t think so,” Guardiola said.
“Maybe it’s unfair (young players don’t get too many opportunities). Maybe I’m wrong. It’s happened in the past. But I had the feeling that, in the bad moments, the players who have to show and prove who we are as a team and the that they have done in the past, I have to give them the keys to try to get us to try and turn the situation around.
“We all have to do it, but of course, there are players who have more experience in this position. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but so far I’ve decided it that way.
“They are always prepared. Young people always have the ability, they don’t defend anything regarding the past, they are free and they can do it, absolutely.”
Young players haven’t had many opportunities at Manchester City this season, but their recent struggles have made it difficult for the manager to experiment with young players.
