I’m a frugal man, so I’ve always been intrigued by the used club market.
But there are so many options, so many sites, so many promises. How does one sift through the plethora of marketing to find the best place to buy used clubs?
Like many of you, I have wondered if I buy from somewhere like Swing 2 or Global Golf is really better value vessel. So I asked real players to weigh in on their experiences with buying used clubs.
One retailer dominated the results. Can you guess which one?
Let’s dive into the data.
Where do you most often buy used clubs?

It’s clear to see that players are mostly buying used golf clubs from two retailers, 2nd Swing and eBay. (This matches my personal preferences, though they have no bearing here.)
It is interesting to note that only those two constitute almost half of general data.
Key findings
In addition to asking players about their preferred used club destination, we also asked for qualitative feedback on why they chose that particular retailer or site. This led to some very interesting data points, including the following.
#1: 2nd Swing is the most trusted site to buy used golf clubs

Based on data from our survey, respondents mentioned 2nd Swing as the most trusted/reputable site to buy used clubs. The same sentiment was echoed regarding customer service, where 2nd Swing also beat the rest of the competition.
#2: eBay has the best prices and gives the greatest value

From over 13 retailers, eBay was mentioned the most when it comes to price and value. This was reason no. 1 that those who took the survey bought from eBay over any other used club seller.
#3: 2nd Swing has the best selection

WHEREAS eBay can take home the crown with the best prices, The second swing was chosen as having the best selection of products. A quick scroll through 2nd Swing’s website (or a walk through any of their retail locations) makes this very apparent, and survey respondents certainly felt the same way.
